Summary

A Warhammer Horror audio drama.

A disgraced Vostroyan Imperial Guardsman huddles, alone and freezing, against a dark storm. Desperate for a chance to redeem himself, he grasps at any hope for peace. But in the Dark Millennium, the Gods offer nothing but horror....

Listen to it because: It's dark, atmospheric, utterly terrifying and a perfect audio horror experience, compellingly written and thunderingly performed.

The story: The wind screams. The dark night is freezing. Vossk, a Vostroyan Firstborn, shrinks into a rock against a howl of memories. Having disgraced himself by deserting his post during a terrifying encounter, Vossk had resigned himself to penal servitude, though he's yearned for the chance to redeem himself. But in the 41st Millennium, such dreams are hollow when a man’s reality has been shaken to his core. Found in the shadows of a pitiless cave, Vossk relives his tale to his rescuer. But trauma stalks the weary, and in the face of an even greater horror, it grins at those whose courage has failed them once before....

40k is now taking its first steps in to the realm of pure horror, and I must say with the mix is sound effects and great acting its well worth buying.

Horror?

A good story, but I wouldn't call it horror. I wasn't expecting to soil myself in terror, but it didn't elicit so much as a guff. BL needs to work on the scariness

Great stuff

Very atmospheric and well acted. The various accents were kind of daft (surely Gothic would be neutral...?) but, other than that, it was great

not worth the credit

This is a poor attempt at Lovecraftian horror in the 41st millennium, the author should be given to the drukhari.

Terrifying wonderful.

Awesome mixture of horror and the classic over the top 40k feel. Each voice actor nails their lines in such a way that the suspense of my disbelief never was broken. 10/10 Would listen to multiple times. Looking forward to more.

Promising w/ Disappointing Ending

Author definitely has potential - the middle was really well done, and left me on the edge waiting for the ending - but the ending just seems like a cheap way out to keep it a short story.
