About this listen

Three thirteen-year-old strangers are connected by one big secret. Nervous Ayrton was stolen from his mum as a baby. He was returned safely, but now Mum won't let him out of her sight. Curious Stanley has a Forbidden Grandmother. His mum won't even talk about her. Homeless Sen has finally found a place to live, but she'll be out on the street if she upsets her secretive landlady. What happens when their paths cross?

A gripping, wise and warm mystery story of long-buried family secrets and the power of friendship.

Very well written, plotted and narrated. I've listened to all of her real world YA books, though I think this is aimed at slightly younger than Orange Boy etc, and this is as moving and engaging as the others. She uses some fantastically insightful and helpful imagery and I'll be suggesting this for my nice who has anxiety. Also doesn't pretend the pandemic never happened which is nice!
