Summary

Tori Hunter always worked solo, but in Samantha Kennedy, she found a partner, in more ways than one. Casey O'Connor isn't thrilled to learn that she has a new partner on the way. It's been hard enough to transition from working with live victims to dead ones. Now, Leslie Turner is going to slow down the process.

Professional duty trumps personal issues as the detectives focus on their latest case, a killer whose choice of victim is solitary women. The investigation raises a lot of questions around the killer's means and opportunities. Leslie would be happy if the questions stopped there, but she's also wondering why she'd rather spend time with these women - specifically Casey - than with her fiance.

Casey would also like to stick to business, but as the case intensifies, she finds herself also watching Tori and Sam and wondering how they balance their public personas and private passions. Figuring it out is a pointless exercise, she tells herself, because that kind of lightning can't possibly strike twice.

Great Trilogy

I love all of Gerri Hill's books but the Hunters Way trilogy have to be among my absolute favourites. I love the strong story lines, it makes a change from the usual LesFic if Lesbian falls for unobtainable straight woman but gets her in the end!

Tori & Sam 2.0

Title really says it all, but I DID love it all the same!! It was nice to see Tori and Casey’s sisterhood evolve and how supportive they all are for each other. I could do without the constant use of the phrase “make love”... it just gets cringy after 3 books! It also seems highly improbable that the same “straight partner-turned-lesbian” situation would happen to the same small unit twice in a short period of time. Basically, the Homicide unit is 4 lesbians and one pretty boy player turned big brother and two absentee disliked detectives.
Aside from all this, I love the series!

Homicide Gets Two New Detectives.

Loved the continued story of Tori and Sam, Dallas police officers. Casey joins the homicide squad and is already part of the team. New killings by a serial killer has all pulling 24 hr shifts and the attraction between Casey and a new woman on the team is growing. Great performance as usual by Abby Craden. Love anything by the author.

Cliffhanger let down

I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger but I didn't want to rate this poorly mainly for personal reasons. It was a little difficult to get through and the personal reason is that I work with two women named Leslie and Casey...and they happen to be mother and daughter.

They didn't close the case

I consider the story unfinished, and I find myself questioning the quality of the work, since it seems the Author likes to leave the case open. Does this mean she doesn't believe the story is strong enough to stand on it's own with out a teaser open ending, and if that's the case, why? I feel almost obligated to purchase the 4th book to get the closing of the case, but what happened to the previous format of One Book=One Case? I feel jaded that the case is "solved" but not closed.

A little weak on crime

Narrator is wonderful, as always. The actual crime plot is a little weak and the relationship seems rushed. I think that it had enough to distinguish it from the other romances, but still, a bit rushed and weak in terms of building aspects of it. Overall, still worth a listen.

OK book

In the past 5 days or so I have listened to 3 of Gerri Hill books this one was nt as good as the two others I listened to.
Abby Craden was great as usual, but the story was not flowing as well as Ms hHill books generally do... it was slow, plot a little bearing and I was not engaged into it.

Excellent

The story flows and while a bit predictable as for the love interest, it’s heartwarming. Yet all the while there’s a bit of suspense as the story plays out. And the ending...excellent!

Partners is Awesome in the Tori Hunter Series.

Though Tori and Sam are hardly in this book at all. It continues the story of the Dallas Homicide PD. Mostly it is about the growing romance between Cassidy, and the new girl, Leslle.

Another View

Ok GH when I said I wanted another sequel I meant with Hunter and her partner — Sam!! I think the love story resembled the previous book too much and too fast!! Maybe it would be nice to see hunter before she met Sam and her escapades there — I would like to just see her solve a case and come home to Sam! Other than that I loved the story!!
