  • E62 How Do You Talk To The Dead? With Alfrun Rose
    Apr 14 2026

    Location: Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh

    Guests: Alfrun Rose

A special episode here for you all. I knew Alfrun Rose's dad Gis and her lovely mum Anna when I was doing music journalism a decade ago. Gis' death is one of the inspirations for Alfie's exquisite play Dead Air. I watched the play at the Edinburgh Fringe and then we chatted about it and life and death in general with the imposing Arthur's Seat and Hollywood Park looming us in the Pleasance Courtyard. Alfie and her sis very sweetly came to my final performance of my comedy show Chaos in The Avocado Aisle on Aug 9 too.

Enjoy this lovely episode and love to the whole clan! :)

As always GRAZIE to Lucia Scazzocchio, Luke Jones (do listen to his brilliant podcast https://southgirlproductionmusic.com/category/podcast-production/), Rosie Wilby (https://www.instagram.com/breakupmonologues/?hl=en) and Mae-Li Evans for encouragement, production support and advice. There would be no podcast without these people. THANKS GUYS.

Park Date is about mixing the silly with the serious so do listen out for the original comedy we're slotting in between and after the interviews (which are hopefully pretty funny themselves).

Do review, subscribe and like. Namecheck as many trees as possible in your reviews and make them as surreal as possible - I have a very nice prize to give out to the writer of the funniest review.

  • E60 Splash Special! With Chris Romer-Lee And Kathryn Ferry
    Mar 17 2026

    Location: Holland Park, London

Guests: Chris Romer-Lee and Kathryn Ferry

Okay a lovely special episode for you here with TWO guests for the price of one. The three of us were joined by Peigh Asante of the fab Swim Dem Crew for a talk I hosted on Jun 3 2025.

It was a spin off from the Design Museum's Splash! Exhibition and was organised by the amazing Imelda Dooley Hunter.

So me, Chris and Kathryn had this chat outside the Design Museum before we went in for the evening talk event. Everything was so fun and if you love lidos, are passionate about access to public space and the social make up of beaches, or if you love art deco pool architecture, then this is one for you.

Check out Kathryn's new book about the Seaside, Chris' books about Sea Pools and forthcoming Diving Boards deep dive and why not - my Lido book too! Enjoy :)

  • E59 Does Anyone Remember That Cliff Richard Film Set in Birmingham? With Nathan Cassidy and Sam Nicoresti
    Jan 27 2026

    Location: MAC, Birmingham, UK

Guests: Sam Nicoresti and Nathan Cassidy (and Nathan's dad)

Ok this is a special Park Date with not one, not two but THREE guests. We recorded a little chat backstage at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham before I hosted the Brum on The Box show where we screened random archive titbits and had a laugh about the crazy telly that was made in Birmingham like Gangsters, Howard's Way, Crossroads, Bullseye, Tiswas, Midlands Today and Pebble Mill at One. Sam Nicoresti starts, Nathan Cassidy comes along and then Nathan's dad joins in too. Sam and Nathan joined onstage for the show and we'll be doing another soon! Watch this space. I also chatted about it on BBC Midlands Today.

BTW yes I said Shay Given when I meant Shaw Taylor haha. But I left it in!

Oh and the Cliff Richard film is called Take Me High.

I listen to audiobooks and podcasts whilst commuting and traveling in general and this is high on my list as one of my fav new podcasts.

Each new episode takes you on a descriptive entertaining, informative and very funny journey.

Could easily see this as a Anthony Bourdain style show on Netflix.

Chris keeps the interviews relaxed and light whilst moving at good pace. Would definitely recommend. Enjoy!
