Summary

For most couples, a quiet dinner for two at Auberge de la Reine Blanche on the Ile Saint Louis would be just the thing to smooth out the complications in a romance. But for gorgeous Mossad operative Delilah and trying-to-retire contract killer John Rain, nothing is ever easy, and when Rain sees a crew of hard-looking men setting up outside the restaurant, he realizes someone has been bringing her work home with her. Is it a hit - or something even worse? When it comes to killing, business and pleasure are the most dangerous mix of all.

very short but very good

More of a single scene thing rather than a novella but Barry reads a great story, very well.

Excellent Rain Bridge Story

Where does Paris Is a Bitch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a short story, so it doesn't rank with the other books on Audible. However, I will tell you I liked the fact that Eisler provided a background/bridge story on the Rain-Delilah story line. It is an excellent short story for those of us that are Rain fans. The setup and the action are outstanding.

What did you like best about this story?

The way that the characters turned their personal issues into problems for predators waiting for them.

Which scene was your favorite?

Of course when Rain and Delilah turn the tables on the attackers. I love when predators run into bigger predators through their folly.

If you could rename Paris Is a Bitch, what would you call it?

I wouldn't.

A really short story

This story is about the final breakup of John Rain and Israeli spy Delilah in Paris. The story is nothing special, the the narration of author Barry Eisler is.

More like a chapter or epilogue to #6 than a short

I'm not sure what I was expecting from a "short" in the John Rain series, but this was certainly a satisfying peek into the John-Delilah dynamic, explaining the ultimate demise of this doomed-from-the-get-go couple.

I will never cease to be amazed at how Barry Eisler manages to make fight scenes so engaging.

Bitch isn’t Paris, it’s John Rain!

Have loved this series and listened to every book up to now....but starting to get annoyed by this whiny little bitch, John Rain. I find it incongruous that a cold, calculating in-control assassin could be such an emotional childish whiner! Going to listen to one more...if this whiny baby man is still the main character, I’m done! You

Eisler is the man!

I'm no fan of short stories. It's like giving me a slice of cheese cake and saying all I can have is a lick! But Barry Eisler was able to create a snippet of a tale and make it satisfying nonetheless. I also love the narration by him. It is obvious he has worked on it as it is always improving. So please Barry, more Ben Treven stories
