About this listen

Claudia Wilson never quite trusted her roommate, an artist named Tom. After finding a body buried in a snow bank outside her front door, her suspicions about his eccentric behavior only worsen. Unemployed and obsessed with the murder, she realizes how little she knows about the people who live around her, including Tom. Tempted by love but unable to trust a man with a past in light of the murder, Claudia does everything she can to find out about the killer. The results lead her to a startling discovery. When art and violence collide, the results can be explosive.

A murder mystery and a tale of growing trust, or suspicion, of those around and how what is seen isn't always what it seems.
A body in the snow seen through the window of her apartment starts Claudia and room mate, Tom, on an investigation to find the killer when, after several months have elapsed, the police seem to be doing nothing. But they are no courageous sleuths: he is an artist waiting to be discovered, she is unemployed with time to gossip with the neighbours whilst hopelessly looking for work.

This delightful book is far stronger in it's characterisations and the antics of the mismatched couple than in the murder mystery itself. But the whole is very enjoyable and narrator, Cindy Piller, does on excellent job not only of reading the text but also of conveying the personalities involved.

A fun and easy read, I received my complimentary copy of Painting With Fire from the rights holder, at my request, via Audiobook Boom. I freely chose to leave this brief review.

It's just space and we all move through it.
