but it wasn't more than that ... a draft; unconvincing immature and overly dumped down dialogues and, which is unfortunate as the idea for the story is great, and the theme is a heartbrokenly reality for way too many people in the world.

An indoor play park attached to a burger joint. Lucas’ daughters favourite place. But things go awry when he calls out to her that it’s time to go. She doesn’t respond. Lucas’ horrors begin! I love this concept so much and the ending, just wow. Chilling, heartbreaking. I listened to this one on audio. It’s multiple voice narration which I really enjoyed. I found it really engaging and at just over two hours it’s a short listen and also included with my audible subscription!

The plot in this story is really well done and draws you in. Really liked the ending apart from the very end, thought it was a bit unnecessary after everything prior. Great narration, would recommend as a one sitting read.

A novella by Jon Athen. He never fails to deliver on gruesome details and horrifically brilliant stories. This one was different though. Not exactly what I was expecting. Whilst the plot isn't going to win any awards and sometimes, although it's short in length felt like filler; the tunnels, though kind of understandable being set in a soft play. And the reality bending rooms sometimes don't make too much sense, again, expected, but still...the way it was wrapped up left me feeling surprisingly in deep thought. It gave me a lot to think about. Not too bad. Give it a shot. It's a little bit gory, one of his lighter works on that front. And it'll stick around for a little while in the noggin after you've finished. Narration was on point to be fair.
