About this listen

Vicky is an outlier. An outlier in society, an outlier in the business world; she’s even an outlier in her own family. She knows that people find her weird and annoying, and she’s resigned to her loneliness until she sees him. Having never been attracted to any man before, her new obsession with burly, rough and ready Mike and the fact she can’t breathe when he’s close comes as a shock.

Unfortunately, Vicky’s cold beauty doesn’t appeal to Mike. The woman they call the Ice Princess is the opposite of his type, and her obvious crush irritates him. How many times does he have to make it clear he’s not interested before she gets the message?

But there are things about Vicky Mike doesn’t know. Reasons she behaves the way she does. Loneliness, vulnerability and kindness, that she keeps hidden. And information her family should have shared with him. So when the fireworks start, and she screams, he acts on instinct, pulling her body into his. And when she buries into his chest, shaking in fear, for some reason he’s not so annoyed by her anymore…

This is a full-length, enemies-to-lovers romance with a neurodiverse heroine and a grumpy but protective hero.

Trigger warnings for assault and mentions of child abuse and neglect.

This is such a beautifully written book. I cried so much with Vicky as she navigated her trauma. It was such a beautiful and respectful portrayal of neurodiversity.

These were two wonderful narrators, and this duet narration was done perfectly!⭐️

Vicky is an 'outlier' in that her autism has caused people to assume she's 'stuck up', an 'ice princess', and can barely bother to look at people let alone talk to them!😢 In fact, she's very honest and can't discern people's facial expressions and doesn't 'read' emotions.😔

She's been hyper fixated on Mike, one of her brothers friends. He's got a chip on his shoulder from growing up surrounded by aristocrats who looked down on him.😠 He doesn't know Vicky has autism and thinks she's completely stuck up, sadly! When she approaches him for a date, it doesn't go well.🥺

This was my first read by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.😍 I can't recommend this book enough. Vicky has so much depth.👏

Vicky being a outlier confuses Mike of her feelings and because she has Autism he misreads her personality
With my favourite narrators again brings the characters to life
Heart feeling and sexy

I love Victoria Harding, she is just a beautiful soul and I love her with Mike. She has loved him since she was young and he didn’t acknowledge her until many years later. I love her directness and that she says it how it is and that he wants to protect her and encourage her to be herself is just amazing. I loved this book. Not too spicy but the story is beautifully written by Susie. Thoroughly recommend and it will be one I definitely go back to again and again. The narrators are brilliant and I love the duet style so much.
