About this listen

Since the dawn of mankind, there have been extraterrestrial entities observing our development as a civilization from afar. They have watched as our knowledge and our numbers have grown, while still feeling the need to shield themselves, as our intolerance for those who are unlike us has kept us from evolving to a higher level of enlightenment. While entities of pure energy may possess the knowledge of the ages, having traveled the tides of time and space for millennia, even they are easily enthralled by the uniquely human temptation of touch.

Throughout the universe, the occurrence of entities who crave pleasure for pleasure's sake is extremely rare, and the desire to be immersed in that realm of hedonistic addiction has even led to the downfall of many who were once viewed as gods. While there are those who have no interest in humanity beyond the intoxicating sensation of touch, there are Others who have discovered an even greater temptation...power.

As we live our daily lives, unaware of this subculture of entities who view the human experience as a recreational activity, we are often sucked into their inescapable vortex as they attempt to still their insatiable cravings, while living as Others among us.

What started out as an intruiging story of the main character and how she and the 'Others' intergrated (not always successfully) into the human world over a period of time, quickly turned into a tale of plotting revenge against her adversary, the true nature of real friends, and then crescendoed into all action at the end.
Another great book by this author and again a well chosen narrator.
Riano D. McFarland is quickly becoming my favourite author and can handle different genres with the same great story telling, not feeling the need to 'fill' with the unnecessary just to make the story longer.
Highly recommend this 'book' and this author.
