About this listen

Victor Bayne never saw himself as husband material, but after an undercover stint as half of a married couple, he’s willing to give it a shot. Jacob Marks was eager to settle down from the get-go, so once Vic popped the question, the wedding should’ve been smooth sailing.

But new evidence has come to light that casts a pall over the whole affair: decades of psychic experimentation and intrigue. Vic would hardly be shocked to discover he’s been an unwitting test subject, but it’s not his name on the roster.

It’s Jacob’s.

Planning a wedding on short notice is challenging enough without a covert investigation. Vic can deal with premarital counseling, floral emergencies, and the world’s most annoying baker - but can he handle what he finds out about his other half?

PsyCop is an ongoing series filled with supernatural action and delightfully awkward humor - with a steady undercurrent of gay romance. It's best enjoyed in order, so if you're new to the series, start with PsyCop book one, Among the Living...and prepare for a hauntingly good time.

A well written story with and interesting  concept.  The characters are likeable and the narration is very good.

I'm really enjoying this series of books - the narrative moves at a good pace and even though Vic and Jacob are working their way through a massive government conspiracy, the books manage to stay grounded. However, the actual relationship between Vic and Jacob is starting to become quite jarring. At the start of the series the books couldn't stop raving about what a super duper powerful medium Vic is (and neither could Vic). Now that's replaced with Jacob proclaiming to be "the provider" and demoting Vic to being his eyes (on the ghost). Meanwhile Vic keeps calling himself a one trick pony and drops everything because Jacob's childhood might not have been perfect. Since this book series doesn't seem to be about unhealthy relationships, it's quite distracting.

Another wonderful book, but BUT
