About this listen

In Only the Good, Jack is cleaning up the mess his long-lost father left behind. As he juggles his dad’s polluting Bellingham paper mill, his grand, empty house on Orcas Island, and his other family, who may not be what they seem, Jack begins to suspect that his father may still be alive. And he may want Jack dead.

Only the Good is the third in Rosemary Reeve's popular legal mystery series about Seattle attorney Jack Hart.

I tried this series on a whim, and so glad that I did. I have listened to all three in quick succession. The plots are satisfyingly complex combined with a human back story. Just when you think you have sorted out the plot another twist then another arrives. All are addressed well by the end.

Excellent series

Wonderful book

I really enjoy books that are about the same characters and that you can get to know and understand. That was the previous books about Jack Hart. Where did the new father come from - in book 2 it was a nasty drug dealing man called 'Rich Pantera who had absolutely no time for his son' and now we have the tragic figure of another 'Jack Hart who really loved his son' Rosemary Reeve is insulting her audience if she thinks we cannot follow from one book to another - what does she want us to do? Forget the past books. I found the story so messed about because of this that had I not been so absorbed in the painting I was doing I would not have continued to listen to the book. I won't bother to listen to any others now. It is a pity as I like the characters and the reading by Noah Debaise. Don't read this book if you have read or listened to the previous two books you will be confused and disappointed.

This author thinks her audience are stupid.
