This is a very emotional enemies to lovers romance between Amelia and Jax.
I wasn't ready for the emotions that it stirred inside me,please heed the trigger warnings..Because as a person who had a friend who died the way Christopher did,I felt so raw listening to this story.
Charity Ferrell wrote a very deep and poignant scene when the death of Chris was explained and how Amelia felt.It will make you cry and I have to give credit to Charity and narrators Connor Crais and Samantha Cook,they were excellent at delivering the right narration for Jax and Amelia.
They are Brilliant.!
Amelia and Jax have known one another ever since they were kids and have always been rivals..bickering and competing over everything...They have a past that is more than rivalry though which is told when we go from past to Present.
But Amelia meets Christopher who is Jax's friend and buisness partner they plan to marry but then Chris dies and nothing is the same.
In the Will Christopher leaves half of the buisness he has built up with Jax to Amelia..she is now c0-owner of the brewery.
Jax is furious as he blames Amelia for Christopher's death...what ensues then is a battle of hate and love..because even though they say they hate one another they are very attracted to eachother and they are passionate together.
Charity Ferrell does an AMAZING job at writing the hate in this story between Amelia and Jax,their words for one another are cruel and hurtful.
Then an overnight buisness trip changes everything and their relationship becomes physical.
Only Rivals is a story about Love,loss,second chances and a rivalry and hate that is ALL just a ruse for something else.
This is a really great audiobook and the narrators Connor Crais and Samantha Cook enhance the story with their acting skills.
Loved listening to it even though it made me cry..lol
