This story took a long time to get into it, but the last half really kept me interested. The characters were well developed but I found the narrators accent limited the depth of feelings.

Ruby Landers is a favourite of mine within this Genre, i love her writing style. And this book is another great addition to her library! My favourite book of hers is Ribbonwood, the banter and clever wit, the realised characters and the chemistry of that book is everything i ever want in a romance. This book is like a lesser version of Ribbonwood imo, but with a whole lot more pining. But a lesser version of what i consider a masterpiece is still pretty darn good! a solid 8/10 at minimum.

Also i love the friend group, such a beautiful mess of people that were also a powder keg waiting to ignite and Alison was that match. The narration of the characters and the emotions that play out were brilliantly performed by Katherine Littrell! So with all that said, If you like Ruby Landers other audiobooks then this one is an easy purchase.

Another thrilling read from Ruby Landers!! So great to read such fleshed out characters, their character arcs are at the perfect pace for the length of the book- tying in with a gripping plot playing in the background to someone developing their new life. The relationships between all the characters is wonderfully multi-faceted (and heartbreaking) this is SUCH a good read/listen!! Can’t wait to dig in to more in the series.
