Summary
Everyone wants that special someone....
Annie Higgins has given up on love: she’s too busy trying to get her own business off the ground. But - infuriated by the advertising agency across the hall making fun of her job - Annie accepts their crazy challenge: to make a random stranger Instagram-famous in just 30 days.
And even when they choose Dr Samuel Page PhD, historian and hater of social media as her target, Annie’s determined to win the bet - whether Sam likes it or not.
But getting to know Sam means getting to know more about herself. And before the 30 days are out, Annie has to make a decision about what’s really important....
Funny, real and heart-meltingly romantic, Annie and Sam’s story is My Fair Lady for the social media age - and the perfect summer listen.

Modern-day My Fair Lady.
This is a modern day version of My Fair Lady which moves along at a good pace. I enjoyed the social media aspect.
I listened to this title as an audio book and it all was going along well until one of the main characters, Mia, suddenly became Miranda and then Mia and then Miranda and back again etc etc (you get the gist) in the last third of the book. Considering this cost over ten quid on Audible, I think that's pretty poor quality control. Some people might think me petty, but the constant mistake soured my enjoyment of the whole thing and left me frustrated at the writer/publisher/producer/proof-reader or whoever is prepared to take responsibility.

Slightly grating voice, equally unpleasant social media setting
While technically well written and not bad as a love story, I felt mildly disgusted by the artificiality of the social media and the weird priorities of the cyber kids with their insistence that this is modern life. In part this seems to be a point that the author is trying to make (don’t overdo it and have a leg in both worlds, cyber anx real), but I just couldn’t connect to the people and their inhumane focus/mind-sets. I also found the elaborate off-hand language off-putting.
The speaker’s voice has a grating quality and affected monotony which I found fitting to the story ‘s character but only further enhances the overall unpleasantness of the listening experience.
Not the bibliophile ‘s cup of tea in my opinion.

Sweet & Satisfying
A really nice easy going listen/read of a story that I didn't want to end. It had just the right amount of anticipation and what I especially loved is how relatable the characters are. Love a story with miscommunication that works itself out in the end. Just lovely.

loved it
I really enjoyed this rom com story, it's a modern day my fair lady with the roles reversed.
The sarcastic humour is just like me, one of the best books I've listened to in a while, I'll be looking for more from this author and the narrator was perfect so I'll be keeping an eye out for her too 👍

I enjoyed it
This is my 4th Lindsey Kelk audio book and I really enjoyed the listen. I haven't ever watched 'My Fair Lady' so I can't say if it is a good comparison or not.
I loved the friendship between Annie and Samuel. I loved that it was a female lead company. I got this book in the sale and I am happy to of listened to it. I am looking forward to listening to more of Lindsey Kelk's books.
Ellie Heydon did a good job at narrating
