I love Veronica Henry’s writing. It’s top drawer ‘chic lit’ . Although light reading it is written beautifully and clearly researched well. Hurry up and write another!!!

I did enjoy this, probablty because I moved to France 17 years ago and was in the catering business before that could relate to some of the events. The cooking was actually quite funny as there is no way she would have got away with doing all that for a weekend party but so what.
Thoroughly predictable storyline, but again what you would expect from a story of this genre.
The narrator's french was abit effete bt it didn't detract too much and the dealings with french contractors risable, but some of it was quite good. Yes I'll probably even listen to it again

This is an enjoyable story. I enjoyed the 1985 timeline more than the modern day one but both are good. My only comment would be that the narrator's Birmingham accent is the most Liverpudlian sounding Birmingham accent I've ever heard!
