Summary
The new novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Susan Lewis.
Your life can change in a heartbeat....
Vivienne Shager has it all. A high-flying job. A beautiful apartment. Friends whose lives are as perfect as her own. But on the afternoon of her 27th birthday, Vivi has a heart attack.
Now Vivi’s life shrinks back to how it began, as she moves back to the small seaside town she grew up in. With her time running out, there is one thing she wants to know the truth about.
Some secrets are best left in the past....
Thirty years earlier, Shelley’s family home, Deerwood farm, bursts full of love and happiness. But one family member has hidden a secret for all these years. Until Vivi comes home demanding answers, and it takes just a moment to unravel the lie at their heart of their lives.

Great Narrators and a well written fast paced book.
I don’t know what to say after just finishing this one. I’d never read a Susan Lewis before and if you’re new to her too I’d describe her as an upmarket Danielle Steel. A good story with a mystery, heartache (in more ways than one!) a moving and uplifting love story, and an education about heart disease and treatment and transplants, so not for those who are going through medical trauma at the moment as it’s not an easy read in places. The narrators were particularly good which always enhances an audiobook. Worth a listen if you like a well crafted, fast paced novel when you’ve got time to enjoy it all in one day!!

A very disappointing read
I have read many of Susan Lewis’s books and enjoyed them all. This one however was awful. Other than the part of the story line that had any meat to it the book was so very sickly sweet with literally everything on the farm was idyllic and so unrealistic. The ending was absolutely predictable. I also felt strongly that I was being lectured to for many chapters on the benefits of organ donation.

confusing and long winded
I bought it so I listened to it but was very difficult to engage with, storylines jump about too much with irrelevant backstories. Also the big secret ain't that big afterall. Overall a bit of a bore, gutted I normally love Susan Lewis bit this one a bit eeck

Powerful
Susan Lewis never disappoints. This was a lovely story which raises awareness of leaving our organs to other unfortunate people who may need them.
Looking forward to the next book

Moving, gripping and hard to put down!
Each character was carefully developed, the plot thickened and as soon as I though I knew what was coming around the corner, the turn of the page took another direction. It was hard to put it down and it kept me up into the early hours of the morning.
Be an organ donor, save lives!!

Ironic
Ironically, I lost the will to live! Incredibly dull and saccharine. Give it a miss.
