Summary

There's no good way to prepare yourself to die....

Guerro runs a kill team. They're good. Better than good. Or they were, until they walked into an ambush that wiped his team out and left Guerro for dead.

All the evidence suggests they were betrayed, but by who, and why?

Determined to avenge his team and settle old scores, Guerro embarks upon a one-man war, knowing that whoever put the kill order out on his people is still out there, watching for him to show his face so they can end him.

A hard-biting SF thriller in the vein of Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, and Titanborn.

Narrated by the award-winning R.C. Bray (Galaxy's Edge, The Martian)

Revenge is sweet

After there final mission together goes wrong, Marco Guerro is out for revenge, but who was to blame!! Good book that moves at a nice pace, the only problem is the con seems to be far to complex for just revenge.

RC Bray does his usual good performance, keeps the story moving along nicely.

The Narrator did a brilliant job of adding the mai

It was an interesting twist on the whole revenge thing, it was also very extremely well thought out. The Author thought of the tiniest of details, to bring the story to life.

The Narrator did a brilliant job of adding the main character’s nark.

‘We had a choice. To be the f**ked or the absolutely f**king f**ked’

Wow, what a ride. Action, grit, gun fights, betrayal and the intrigue of a long con... all masterfully narrated by RC Bray.
Literally nothing to fault and I could listen to this all day long.
This is my honest opinion of a free review copy.

Good old fashioned well thought out caper

Nice new take on the con and counter con - what happens when you double cross someone you should not. Awesome RC Bray narrating makes this an excellent few hours of entertainment.

Enjoyable read

Great story with an interesting twist. I liked the sci-fi experience and though the main character was well written. Narration was great as expected from RC Bray

One Man's War

Getting the standard and most obvious out of the way, RC Bray was his usual amazing self, cannot fault his performance in any way.

The story in itself felt a little short, there wasn't enough background to the overall universe this was set in that gave things a little bit of a vague feel to it. Without trying to ruin the overall plot the backstory into the main characters also felt a little short so I struggled to really form any investment into caring about them.

Overall it was an interesting story but just fell a little short of getting into any real depth.

Excellent story

This book starts off great and carries on throughout the rest of the story. It melds a combination of action humour and tension effortlessly and RC Brays narration brings this brilliantly to life in his usual excellent style. It isn’t the longest book. It that doesn’t matter as you will be totally absorbed into the story and by the end want to listen to it again.

Totally recommend this for all fans of mil sci-fi
