With a good job in sales and marketing and a nice house in Manchester that he shared with his wife and kids, John Bishop was no different when he turned the dreaded 4-0. But instead of spanking a load of cash on a car that would have made him look like a senior stylist at Vidal Sassoon, he stumbled onto a pathway that ultimately lead him to become one of the nation's best loved comedians.

Inspiring and moving.
I’d seen the film before listening to this. Actually my mother is an extra in the film. Saying that I was truly moved by Paul’s actual story and don’t think I would have been as strong as he was.
It’s tough listening at times but diffused by humour and warmth. You feel like you take Paul’s journey with him.
Having worked briefly with Jules in Swansea I can say she’s just as described and a lovely human being. I’m glad Paul found her.
I’m not a fan of talent shows but that’s not what this book is about. It’s about a person who overcomes overwhelming odds and comes out on top. Brilliant listening and I wish him well in the future.
Listen, you won’t regret it.
