Summary

An accidental pregnancy, a hunky hockey star, and a surprise twist you will never see coming, this swoonworthy and heartfelt romance from best-selling author Meghan Quinn will keep you on the edge of your feet as you fall head over ice skates in love with your next book boyfriend, Hayden Holmes.

"What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?"

Forget. I need to forget. I need an escape. Only one person isn't falling for my reputation as the NHL's golden boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend's house. She didn't want to hear my reason - she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy - and the perfect escape. She's everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly, I need to spend every waking moment with her. And I do, making this summer the best off-season I've ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don't expect is to get her pregnant. What I definitely don't expect is having to fight for her affection.

IT HAD A GOOD START, BUT IT WENT DOWNHILL FAST!

First, I loved the previous books, and I thought this story would be a nice one, too. Well, I was wrong.

The story started nicely, even though it dragged a bit. The characters had good chemistry, until the heroine decided to do a 180, and become a complete self centered, egoist bi*%#. This is a very unlikeable character from about one third of the book, to almost the end.

I do enjoy a heroine with flaws, and many times is those flaws that make you like the character better, but the flaws in this heroine... Let me count the ways. *

*I had a spoilers list to place here, but it is not worth it. I finished listening to the book to see if I would change my mind on the rating, but it got worse.

The narrators were good, and I enjoyed listening to them.

The hero puts his foot in his mouth on occasion, but he apologizes for it. He was way too good for her, and he did not deserve what this hypocritical lying woman puts him through.

Not recommended- not worth the money/credit.

SORRY.. THE HEROINE KILLED IT FOR ME

I was so looking forward to this listen after the previous two books in the series and it started off well.. however it seemed to drag and linger on the same plateau because the hero wanted to get-to-know Adalyn before he took their relationship to the next level. The first book in the series was brilliant and I was absolutely blown away by the well-written, well-planned mix of everything I love.. tension, intrigue, lol humor, romance, passion, loveable characters and sizzling chemistry. But sadly I felt this book had a lot of diluted feels with fragments of humor. The hero was great.. however, the real struggle was how Adalyn treated him when she found out she was pregnant.. with drama, angst and shameful no-no chapters of not telling him about the baby and then chapters upon unforgiving chapters of putting him through heartache because he had been unknowingly traded. There were other conflicts this dislikeable heroine caused between a male friend of hers and the hero which was totally self-centered and selfish.

Worth a credit? Despite the dual POV excellent narration, IMO, there is a world of difference between the first book and this one.. so no, for me, this is not creditworthy. I was expecting to love it.. I wanted to love it.. I tried to love it.. and even though sadly I did not.. maybe you will.

This is a really good one!! ❤️

This is such a good story. Hayden fell in love with Adalyn from the start. He’s pretty much every girl’s dream guy. Aiden Snow’s narration is perfect.
Adalyn is a good girl and isn’t a simpering fool like so many heroines. She does, however, make things a little harder on herself than she needs to. CJ Bloom’s narration is good.
This story is just so heartwarming. I loved it and will definitely be listening to it again.
Meghan Quinn, you are fabulous.

Loved the Character, hate the way he was treated.

I loved the character of Hayden, but I do not like the way Adlynn doesn't tell him and Logan treats him. It made me fall out of love with Adlynn more than a little bit and want way better for Hayden.
