But things didn't turn out how she planned, and now she works a minimum wage, off-the-books job in the Broken just to survive. Then Declan Camarine, a blueblood noble straight out of the deepest part of the Weird, comes into her life, determined to have her (and her power).

But when a terrible danger invades the Edge from the Weird, a flood of creatures hungry for magic, Declan and Rose must work together to destroy them - or they'll devour the Edge and everyone in it....

the concept is great and the story development and character challenges was well organised. this is a great read.

I found Ilona Andrew’s books years ago when travelling, so they have the ability to illicit positive feelings.
It helps that this story is well written and in a similar mould to other series.

Enjoyable fantasy action and romance.

Rose Drayton and her two young brothers struggle to survive whilst living squeezed between worlds in The Edge. This is a strip of land wedged between the magically oblivious in The Broken (a parallel universe Earth), and the magically abundant world of The Weird. With the help of her Hedge Witch Grandmother Rose works hard to raise her brothers until the day visitors come to The Edge bringing adventure, danger and romance. It’s a great story and is highly recommend. This is the first of four Edge books.

I really enjoyed the story, the authors are favourites, I loved the hidden legacy and Kate Daniels series, this book is as good. The narrator irritates me she has the same style across all the series so in my head I keep thinking of other characters in others books, it's distracting. The world building is confusing to start with but it soon sank in, Rose is a great character and Declan is similar to Rogan so loved him

I love anything this husband and wife team write and also love Renee, their narrator. I didn’t think she quite got Declan’s voice though- the faux English accent was a bit annoying at times but the rest of the characters were done brilliantly as always. I love a fantasy romance but although very satisfying, the romance is only half the story. Iona Andrews do great adventures too. A real escapist bit of fiction where goodness and bravery conquers all!

Great fun, lots of action, laughs, thrills and romance.
