About this listen
Finn has lived with the pressure of hockey’s expectations since he was old enough to understand his father was one of the greatest the sport had ever known.
He’s changed positions. Changed plans. Changed colleges. But he’s never managed to outrun the pressure.
When it starts ruining his performance on the ice, he knows he needs to find a way to conquer it once and for all.
Desperation sends him running to the one man he thinks can help him. Jacob Braun, a goalie who played against his father.
It doesn’t matter that they hated each other, Finn will use him—use everything—to figure out how to beat this mental block. Even seduce his father’s greatest enemy.
What Finn wasn’t expecting was that they don’t just burn hot in bed, but on the ice, too. And that, ultimately, it isn’t Jacob’s brain he wants to pick apart, it’s his heart he wants to own.

Only pretty soon, there’s more than just training going on.
Jacob isn’t out. He’s got concepts of a plan to come out – but hasn’t taken the final step. His agent and publicist are helping him, but he needs to make the final push himself. Then he meets Finn, the out-and-proud goaltender, and he realizes he’s going to have to make a choice. Staying in the closet means never being seen with Finn. Never being a proper boyfriend.
Now, Morgan knows Jacob’s gay. What he doesn’t know, is his nemesis is dating his son. Complete set up for major conflict. I won’t give anything away, but fireworks are a thing.
This is a Beth Bolden romance, so I get my happily ever after.
Darcy Stark is a great narrator and his work with Beth is always fantastic. I truly enjoyed this performance and this book. Can’t wait for more to come…
Another great book

I loved the idea of dad's worst enemy and that combined with Jacob coaching Finn made for a hot and slightly taboo vibe. I adored that Finn was frequently a pushy little brat but was also plagued with anxiety and deep insecurities, and although Jacob supported him, he also had his own issues he needed Finn's help with. It felt like a very equal partnership despite the age gap and something of a power imbalance, and I loved that they waited (well, Jacob waited) until he had strong emotional feelings as well as physical attraction. I loved the way things went down with Finn's dad, I very much enjoyed those scenes. Honestly, the only reason why it's a 4 and not a 5 is because it's really long and there were some sections in the first half that dragged a little (second half was way better) and because I occasionally wondered if bratty little Finn was being *too* pushy and should give poor Jacob a break lol. Happily he was more than a match for him.
great audio

Teaming up with your dad's rival was always a risk but as soon as these two set sights on each other you can feel the heat. The chemistry is off the charts and I actually loved the continual denial to act on their chemistry early on. It made it so much hotter when they finally gave in and helped their connection grow, adding in feelings, emotions and more as they fought each other and deal with Finn's confidence.
Ramsey needs his story told! He's an enigma and I want to know more!
Jacob and Morgan's banter, "no blood" arguments and eventual begrudging friendship was weaved so well it added a new layer to the story. I can't wait for Morgan's book and look forward to more Jacob chirps and perhaps some well timed and persistent interruptions as payback.
Such wonderful characters, steam and heart and just the right amount of humor to hook up all the way through!
Fun, heated and compelling!
