About this listen
The first time Bee Bannister met Tom Wright, he couldn’t stand him.
Everything about the man aggravated him—his perfect hair and body, his confident arrogance, and the way he looked straight through Bee.
Which is why it’s such an unpleasant shock to find that he’ll be sharing space with him while on a Christmas holiday with friends in Scotland.
However, as the days fly by and snowy Edinburgh begins to work its magic on him, Bee discovers that sometimes first impressions can be very misleading. Tom is kind and funny, and somehow, rather than looking through Bee, he actually sees and likes all of him.
The two men grow closer, but will Bee follow his heart or his head when the holiday ends? And can relationships that start so badly ever lead to love?
From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a festive romantic comedy about enemies to lovers and the magic of Christmas.
This is the first book in the Wright Brothers series.

Really this book was good and sweet, the second seems to carry in directly from this one which I don’t hate.
The narration was alright, but having one narrator voice both POVs is so hard to keep characters straight, especially when I tend to do things while ear reading. Both MCs are just English…I literally had to wait for names or life details to be mentioned to know which POV I was hearing. This is obviously only an Audio issue.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, kind of enemies-to-lovers, overcoming-first-impressions, forced proximity love story. It's classic Lily Morton, with quirky characters, snarky banter, mistaken assumptions, helpful (?) friends, and family, and a slow, sweet romance. I loved Bee and Tom, and enjoyed watching them learn more about each other after their initial inauspicious encounters. This is a sweet, low-angst listen, perfect for when you want a fun story, with plenty of humor and some (verbal) bite. The end part with Tom's family was particularly rich, especially the dinner with the pudding, I was laughing so hard I was gasping for breath. The very end felt like a loss though. I wanted to see the big moment, and I felt a little cheated.
The narration by Joel Leslie was phenomenal as always. He gets the emotions, the snark, the jokes, everything just right. I loved it.

There’s a great group of side characters and it’s interesting to see Jack’s relationship with both Steven and Arlo from a different perspective.
It’s as much a love letter to the hidden gems of Edinburgh and has moved the city up my list of places to visit.
I've started reading Lily Morton's books as Joel Leslie would perform them, so the audio performance didn’t disappoint.
Glorious and highly recommended.

🌶️🌶️
I loved this audiobook the narration was perfect and the storyline was so incredibly cute. I looked that even though it was a short time that they actually knew each other the story still didn't feel fast paced it felt like they moved at the perfect speed. I could honesty listen/read another novel about this couple.
