Story
I died for Hostess cupcakes. I know. Tragic, right? Even worse, after I came back, I still didn't get any cupcakes. What I did get, however, is a six-foot-something reaper with eyes like blue fire to guide me into the world of the supernatural. Which, as it turned out, wasn't quite like the fairy tales little girls are told growing up. Not only is magic real, more importantly, so are monsters. And apparently, I'm one of them.

Life was a whole lot easier when the dead stayed dead. I thought I was human. Apparently, I was wrong. I didn't even know there were non-humans. Others, they're called. Fairies, vampires, even the bogeyman - they're all real. At least, that's what the werewolf told me when I saved her from the cops. Did I mention that I saved a werewolf? And those weren't just cops trying to kill her. They're a deadly cult with the sole purpose of capturing and torturing Others...especially me. Because it turns out I'm not just any Other. I can talk to the dead.

My magical makeover is all Gary's fault. I knew there was something off from the moment he transferred to my school. Go figure. He's a wizard with a trust fund and an inferiority complex. Summary
Book six in the heart-racing post-apocalyptic series, Odium! People will do anything to survive!
In the sixth book of the Dead Saga series, Nina is fighting more than just her demons; she’s waging war upon evil, because the greatest enemy now isn’t the deaders - it’s humans. Determined to eradicate the Savages from earth, Nina must settle an age-old argument and bring together mortal enemies. Because it’s more than just their own survival at risk now...it’s everyone’s. Running blindly toward danger is what Nina does best-only this time her eyes are wide open. She knows the risks, but she also knows that time is running out for Mikey; the Savages are hungry, and they’ll only play with their food for so long.
Nina must eventually make the choice between love and survival, because in a world gone mad, you can’t have both, and no matter how much you want to stay, sometimes it’s easier to say goodbye.

Intense and suspenseful! Phenomenal story telling.
Holy freakin hell!!
My nerves and my heart has been sitting on live land mine throughout this entire book- and Claire C Riley just lit the fuse and detonated my my freaking world.
I want to cry, to shout, to get on my knees and beg her for more because this cannot be the end!
So much nerve wracking intensity and oh the suspense!! Old gangs reunited, as new allies are forged, new rivalries begin... so many worlds collide and as pieces fit together I felt myself falling apart... but Mikey is safe- he had the heart and soul of a fighter, a true warrior; and Nina is is the epitome of a heroine- she has the kind of strength that will make men the toughest of men want to fight for the greater good and a bravery where she can look a monster in the eye and not cower- where there’s life there’s hope...
“As long as air still filled our lungs, we still had a chance. We still had hope. And in a world filled with fear, fury, and death, having hope was everything.”
The story telling my Ms Riley is beyond phenomenal. My world is in pieces but I cling to a glimmer of hope- truthfully I’m still processing... and as much as I want to feel strong and hopeful I feel like a piece of me has been snuffed out.

Awesome!
Another amazing piece of my favourite story! Hollie Jackson does a brilliant job with the narration as usual, Highlander is hilarious! Claire Riley is an amazing story teller and does such a good job getting you to know her characters that you just feel totally involved in what's going on (and there's so much going on) I already can't wait for the next installment!

Great Series
I really enjoyed this series. The author did a great job of making relatable characters with strengths and flaws. Each book brought in new believable scenarios. I would have liked a recap at the beginning. Books V & VI flowed like one chapter to another and I had to go back and relisten to some of V to remember what was going on.
Minor narrator issue- The narrator isn't bad but something about her delivery was off. I think it's her intonation or matter of fact way of delivering serious and emotional moments.
She delivers things like "she looked terrified" or "I hope they don't slaughter us" as if she were saying I hope we have macaroni for dinner or looks like it might rain. It just doesn't match the moment and can be irritating. However she is one of the few narrators I've hear than can clearly separate characters with her voice and do male and female characters well.
