This is a wonderful story that keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next, it's a roller coaster of emotions and a brilliant concept.

I've had this on my TBR for ages and now I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner. for a debut novel this book is twisty and complex. I usually struggle with the multiple POVs but this book has set the scene for a complex epic of a tale with many moving parts and multiple characters with a vital part to play. I loved how the author twinned the seemingly unrelated characters around each other. occasionally brushing past one another while they traveled their own paths. there are so many questions left unanswered and so many little tidbits that I know are leading somewhere but I don't know where yet. I can't wait for the next book! word of warning this book deals with dark themes and does not shy away from them. check your triggers.

seriously underrated dystopian fantasy!

This is a really good dystopian story.
I love the way it’s written and the way the author lets you get to know the characters.
I did choose the audiobook for this one as well as the book. However, I didn’t like the narrator parts, they were weird in how they were spoken and I wasn’t really a fan of the voice throughout.
I have the next book to jump into straight away which will just be me reading it.
