Summary

In this updated edition, Gayle King introduces brand new notes from: Tracy Morgan, Heather Duckworth, Adam Rippon, François Clemmons, Tammy Duckworth, Alexis Ohanian, and Alex Honnold!

Gayle King shares her favorite inspiring letters from the popular CBS This Morning segment Note to Self, in which 21st-century luminaries pen advice and encouragement to the young people they once were.

What do Congressman John Lewis, Dr. Ruth, Coach K, and Kermit the Frog wish they could tell their younger selves? What about a gay NFL player or the most successful female racecar driver? In Note to Self, CBS This Morning cohost Gayle King shares some of the most memorable letters from the broadcast’s popular segment of the same name. Including essays from such varied figures as Vice President Joe Biden, Oprah, Russell Brand, Kesha, and Maya Angelou - as well as poignant words from a Newtown father and a military widow - Note to Self is a lovely reflection on the joys and challenges of growing up and a perfect gift for any occasion.

Really boring

Nothing to listen to here and a strange book with people talking to themselves in the past

Take note, it’s inspirational

I typically do not buy books like this but thought it might be interesting since Gayle was involved and I loved it.

I don’t often reflect on the past but this book really inspired me to take in who I was during that age and who I have become. I just never imagined my life would take so many turns and that I have arrived at some of the key areas I wanted to succeed in. I have to take the time to take it all in. Thank you for this book.

enjoyable some pieces were too short.

Insightful several people would have done well with expanded time. Having their stories in their voice is historic. short and great for road travel.

Great Storytelling

I loved hearing so many different people from different backgrounds and how they overcame life's obstacles. These stories help the average person like you and me to realize that we are all human no matter the economic status or social status. Loved this.

AMAZING!

I literally cried on every note, this book is by far the hardest and most intense book to listen to.., it reminds me of so much hurt and pain I have trapped internally! I still have yet to sit and write my younger self due to the well of tears that form from simply picking up a pencil.

Beautiful and inspiring.

A collection of raw and beautiful stories of advice to the younger selves of artists, athletes, politicians, writers and other inspiring people. This collection of stories is an emotional and inspiring journey.

Wonderful and terrific idea

I love the idea of asking leaders in all industries to share a "note to my younger self" to those younger in the industry. Terrific life lessons in each.

Better as a bedside book

I think this book would be better to have in print as a bedside book. Each NTS is its own world and I did not like listening to more than one or two at a time because then I forgot the flavor of each one. I wanted to savor and think about each one. So it took me a long time to finish. I couldn't use it on my commute. That's why I think it would be better as a bedside book where you read one NTS at a time.

Variety of personalities

I love that each story is read by the person who wrote it. Some I didnt relate to as much but some touched me deeply and gave me a new way to see things in my life.
