From the global No. 1 bestselling author and creator of the hit Netflix drama Stay Close and Fool Me Once comes the unputdownable new crime thriller.

A year after the devastating events that took place in Fool Me Once, a secret from former Detective Sami Kierce's college days comes back to haunt him. Present day is hard enough for Kierce, but his past isn’t through with him yet…

Sami Kierce, a young college grad backpacking in Spain with friends, wakes up one morning, covered in blood. There’s a knife in his hand. Beside him, the body of his girlfriend. Anna. Dead. He begins to scream - and then he runs.

Twenty two years later, Kierce, now a private investigator, is a new father who’s working off his debts by teaching wannabe sleuths at a night school in New York City. One evening, he recognizes a familiar face at the back of the classroom. Anna. It’s unmistakably her. But as soon as he makes eye contact with her, she bolts.
For Kierce there is no choice. He knows he must find this woman and solve the impossible mystery that has haunted his every waking moment since that terrible day.
His investigation will bring him face-to-face with his past. Soon he discovers that some secrets should stay buried

Editorial Review

Will he find redemption, or will his past destroy him?
This is one of my most anticipated books of the year. Fans of Fool Me Once, whether you devoured the book or binged the Netflix adaptation, are in for a treat as Harlan Coben returns with the sequel Nobody’s Fool. Picking up a year after the shocking events of the first book, this novel plunges into the tumultuous world of former Detective Sami Kierce, a man struggling to outrun both his past and his tarnished reputation. I am eager to see how Kierce’s story unfolds. Will he find redemption, or will his past destroy him once and for all? If Coben’s track record is any indication, Nobody’s Fool will be a gripping, edge-of-your-seat ride filled with high-stakes drama and the kind of storytelling that keeps you guessing until the final page. —Dawn G., Audible Editor

Great story, great narration. A great listen and highly recommended. Need more words to get to fifteen minimum.

The best female voice from a male narrator I've ever heard.

This is Coben at his best. Great plot twists as always but there are some brilliant characters in this book too. Raymond sounds like a legend!! I would think there could be another book or even a spin off series involving the 'Sherlock' class.

Superb!!

This is the second book in the detective Sami Kierce series. This time it’s personal for Sami.

He is now a former detective turned private investigator, Sami is haunted by questions from his past. It all started when he went backpacking in Spain and met Anna. They instantly clicked but one morning he woke up to a nightmare. His girlfriend was dead, he was covered in blood and holding a knife. He fled.

This incident has haunted him ever since, yet he’s continued with his life. He is now married and a father of a son, he runs a night class for aspiring investigators. Everything seems to be going well until he is confronted by a blast from a past he tried to bury.

Sami can’t resist investigating, but the deeper he digs, the more he uncovers the identity of the woman he was with that night. However, a powerful family wants to control his investigation. They underestimate his nose for lies and his determination to find the truth, no matter the cost. Things get much darker.

The beginning felt a bit slow, but it quickly became a page-turner. I wonder if there will be another book in the series.

Good effort from the narrator.
However, his attempt at a Jamaican accent was TERRIBLE!
His female impressions sound trans. They don't sound authentically like a biological women. And they ALL sound the same.
I don't like his impressions of women. AT ALL!
They're loud, nasally and piercing. Like nails on a chalkboard. IRRITATING!!

This book was ok.
Detailed. Full of twists and turns.
It's standard Harlan Coben fare.
Too many convenient plot-vehicles, for the sake of progressing the story.
The main character is just Myron Bolitar, but with an Indian name.
He has the exact same personality!
Such lazy writing of him.
He's also not very likeable.
I cannot stand his wife. She's extremely annoying!

As said previously; this is standard Harlan Coben.
it's not his best. Not by any means.

This is just Myron Bolitar!!...

This was so far fetched. If there was a plot to begin with but by the time he got halfway through, he realised that it was poor and just wanted to end it and go to the next one. it seems that every investigator had a bad hangover when they touched this case.

nowhere near his best
