Summary

Humanity is fractured and on the brink of war.

The United Terran Federation and the Eastern Star Alliance have been fighting in minor skirmishes along the border region for the last few years, but now it threatens to break out into a full-on war with the victor assuming control of all human space.

The Alliance has fired the opening shots with a horrific strike on a civilian target, killing millions and shocking the Federation's parliament into action. Now, mighty fleets of starships are moving against each other, ready for the final battle that will settle the conflict once and for all.

The venerable Admiral Jackson Wolfe prepares himself for one last fight as his nemesis, Admiral Vadim Kohl, looks to make a name for himself by defeating the infamous Federation officer in battle. Jackson knows events are now in motion that can't be stopped and only one thing is certain: Win or lose, nothing will ever be the same again.

No Quarter is the second book in the Unification War Trilogy and the eighth book in the overall Black Fleet Saga.

continues to keep an engaging plot

luck is starting to run out for our heroes and they are forced to realize heavy losses when fighting their own kind.
the downside is the amount of repetition of historical events within the space opera, often multiple times in a chapter. this is why the story looses 2 stars, as it started to become annoying, as opposed to being informative.

Still good and gripping, probably his darkest one

Had to buy this book immediately after finishing off the previous. Been unable to put my headphones down for the last few days to get through it. It’s one of the darkest of his books and I don’t know how it will end.

Best of the series!

It feels like Dalzelle has really developed between the previous books and this - the plot is fantastic. Masterfully narrated as ever by Mark Boyette.

A real page turner.

I really like these books by Joshua Dalzelle I almost never turned it off from beginning to end. It would be a crime if I did not recommend these books.

Amazing

About 3 hours to go but I have to say this book up to now in my opinion is the best of all 3 of the trilogies , they are all amazing , but the section in this one about the Jericho for me was one of the greatest scenes in any audio book I have listened to . Simply stunning !

Obvious plotline continues :/

Oh no! Though I’ve given the other two trilogies straight fives, these last two books have really creaked under the weight of a really obvious plot line heading in from far away- if you read the book before you know just what I mean as the character was bafflingly uncharacteristically placed almost as an afterthought, set up to make a story later.
It’s still a good book but it is a bit spoiled by this character who unfortunately is going to be a major party of the last book now too.
Ho hum.

Great evolution of the story

Full of twists and turns, political intrigue, space, battles and personal dilemmas. This is a very good addition to the series. Excellently narrated. as well.

Nice read

Nice read but at times it did feel like one long space battle but still worth the read
