After her first two thrillers, A J McDine became an auto-buy author for me so I bought this one even though I had others in my library I hadn't listened to yet. This new one didn't disappoint. I disappear into her books which are so well written you feel as if you're living them rather than 'reading' them. I put my headphones on and don't take them off until the book is finished and I've done that with all three.

Great stories, compelling characters, believable dialogue, exceptional writing. What more can you ask for?

The narration was pitch-perfect, bringing AJ's characters to life and portraying the difficult scenes with just the right amount of emotion, not overplaying, but exciting and believable. I really liked her and will look out for more books by Fiona Mitchell.

Hurry up and write another one AJ ... I can't wait!

Really enjoyed this story, had good characters and interesting story line. Narrated it very well.

The main character annoyed me. So much about her didn’t ring true with behaviours or emotions of a mother whose daughter is lost. And despite running a multimillion business, she has low intelligence and no common sense. I kept listening hoping discrepancies would be explained but they weren’t. And all the way through, main character protects a confirmed rapist. It’s a very bizarre book.
And I rarely leave bad reviews because I usually abandon if not enjoying but this was so bad I hoped it would all turn it around at the end! Because it managed to get published 😂
