Summary

Fierce. Scarred. Ginormous grump.

And I get to tell him he's a father...

Brilliant life decisions - falling for the bad guy.

Leo damn Regis. Hated scourge of Heart's Edge.

A wall with arms and legs. Hercules dipped in ink. Incandescent eyes.

The legend, the outcast, the boy I loved.

But the man they call "Nine" isn't the villain they think.

He saved my life and seared my heart once upon a messed up time.

We planned our great escape. He made promises in diamond.

Then a sucker punch of fate said Nope to our fairy tale.

I'm not here to kiss and make up. I'm looking for my missing sister.

Only one hulking, gravel-voiced man has the clues.

Ugh. I so don't need Leo's protection.

Don't even get me started on his oh-so-secret past.

The best part? He doesn't have a clue what I'm hiding.

It's got ten little fingers and ten little toes and eyes just like his.

I'm no beauty. He's too beast. Fun times ahead.

They say you can't run forever. Sometimes you stand. Sometimes you fight.

And sometimes an unbroken hero barges back in to lay down the law...

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow - old promises and jaw-dropping secrets collide in a small town love-storm. A punished mountain of a man retakes the girl who hasn't told him he's a dad. Surprise!

Full-length romance novel with a Happily Ever After that's even crazier than you think.

So bloody emotional 😭

I can’t stop tearing up.. Take a bow Nicole Snow for writing such a beautiful, emotional, thrilling, sexy book.. And the narrators take a bow too.. Joseph and Catherine did justice to the characters.. Can’t wait to read book 4 😱😭

DEEP 😊😢😘

What can I say about this fantastic book & hearing more how Leo's younger life was & why he went out of the kids of Heart's Edge when he was called 'Tiger'
Hearing what happened to him when he was a young kid reminded me with similarities to another series that I've read where scientist want to experiment on them & make them their 'weapon'
There is so much going on especially when he sees his old love Lorissa 'Rissa' comes back to Heart's Edge to try & see what's happened to her younger sister Deanna who went back to open up another shop.
There is so much going on there & I found going back in their past was a great & beautiful eye opener

Love Leo

Marked as a monster and cursed to live in the shadows it was wonderful to see Leo come back into the light and clear his name. He is a great and troubled character that we’ve seen throughout this series and it was nice to get his backstory and history with Clarissa.

Predictable

I gave this an overall of a three because I enjoyed the female narrator I did not like the male narrator and that I love happily ever afters.
But this was a predictable a little cheesy and the male narrator just kinda messed it up for me.

🌻I did not care for the Heroine’s selfishness 🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I really didn’t like Carissa. All she ever cared about was herself. She left town with 9’s baby and never looked back. He spent years in prison and has been, on the run, for 8 years. All, of which could have been avoided if she would have testified about what really happened the day her father was killed.(URGGGG, don’t get me started.) She also avoids learning the truth because she, “just doesn’t want to know” when knowing would help her sister be freed from captivity. I just wanted to scream, “ Put you big girl panties on and get over yourself!”

Other then that, the book is Hot, although a slow burn, many secrets were revealed, you got the chance to revisit favorite characters and the bad guys got what was coming to them. What else could a romance lover want?

Push through some of the rediculous parts

If they are supposed to be so smart why did they do so many dumb things. Some of the characters actions in this story were a little unintelligent which didn’t fit with how their characteristics were portrayed. I found my self putting down the book so I didn’t have to listen to their “stupid” decisions.

SO! 👏🔥👏 GOOD!

I like the couples with a dark past, when they're damaged, when life keeps them apart, and when they do meet again they're so different but they just know their love never diminished. ❤❤❤ Omg I love this tragic couple! They are 🔥🌋🎆 when they come together! The back and forth between past and present reveals more about them and their individual pasts.
Once again, Fuschia is the best! I love her self indulgent wit and patronizing sarcasm. I'd hate her irl too, but reading her is funny to me.

Too many sex scenes

I know right? It’s a romance category so you expect that but Honestly these scenes are just too frequent and more cringy than sexy The story itself was interesting and unusual if she had used that more and over the top sex scenes less it could have been a great listen

In addition this woman is just plain ole dumb heroine who does stupid things for no apparent reason that I can understand

Her father gets killed while attacking her she runs away instead of telling her story she comes back to town because her sister is missing presumably kidnapped or involved in the same dangerous stuff her father that tried to kill her was involved in so she stays in a remote cabin where she or her kid could get taken and nobody would know she gets clues about her sister and instead of getting help runs off on her own without leaving any info on where she is she leaves a 7 yr old alone when he’s prone to wandering off and sooooo many more things just dumb to the core

The story has multiple scenes that similarly don’t make sense doesn’t anyone edit her books? It had a lot of potential but falls short in many ways

I doubt I would get another in this story line but if you can overlook stupid leading women and like lots of gratuitous sex then this could be for you
