So when SAS trooper Matt Standing is told that the former Navy SEAL who saved his life is in trouble, he doesn't hesitate to go to his aid - even if that means flying halfway around the world to Los Angeles. Entertaining As Always
Very much enjoyed it.
Particularly enjoyed the first two stories.
I'd love to know why the author decided to write Jenny out and send Jack off to the states.
Up to him I suppose. With or without Jenny a very good listen.
Paul Thornley great as always

Good book, bad production.
I love Stephen Leathers Jack Nightingale books and Paul Thornley’s narration is, as always brilliant. It’s a shame there was bad background noise which meant you couldn’t really immerse yourself in the stories. At first I couldn’t work out where the ssshhhhhhhing noises were coming from. But it’s background ‘white noise’ I suppose. Sigh!

I have listened to every book Stephen Leather has wrote, with my hero Jack Nightingale.
Never disappointed, always a great story and Paul Thornley is the best narration for this character.

It would be nice if Tennesse Nights were available through audible with Paul Thornley narrating the story.
These are 9 great spooky mysteries, involving regular characters such as T-bone, Jenny and Joshua. Worth buying and listening too.

A very poor set of Nightingale stories.
If you have never read the fantastic Nightingale novels you would get a refund and move on having read this book. Be warned this set of stories is not of the same quality as the novels, and more importantly nowhere near as good as Short Story Collection 1. Stephen Leather is treating his fans with some contempt here, he knows he has a loyal British fan base who yearn for these stories, but he sets nearly all in the USA and hurriedly produces sub mediocre stories to keep us Brits buying his books. Thornley is an excellent narrator, but even he struggles here with the need to constantly pronounce a range of US accents. It is not just the setting but the crazy implausible plots, and Nightingale popping up to help all over America due to his association with Wainright . Many of the stories follow an identical formulaic pattern. Sadly this will be my last Leather purchase, fed up with being treated like a mug. Avoid.

In a word BRILLIANT, as you might expect
Although I am still eagerly awaiting the next full novel in audio form it was great to grab these short stories to tide me over while I wait.
I'm not entirely sure why Jack now lives in the USA, but it does make for rather entertaining stories.
My particular favourites here are ''Posession, ''The Mansion'' and ''Wrong Turn'' , the last one being hugely entertaining in the typical Nightingale 'Die Hard' style.
I wholeheartedly recommend this to all Nightingale fans and as a good introduction for those who may be interested in getting to know Jack Nightingale .
