Summary
#1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr examines the lives of three sisters as they step beyond the roles of wife, mother, daughter and discover the importance of being a woman first
Clare Wilson is starting over. She's had it with her marriage to a charming serial cheater. Even her own son thinks she's given his father too many chances. With the support of her sisters, Maggie and Sarah, she's ready to move on. Facing her fortieth birthday, Clare is finally feeling the rush of unadulterated freedom.
But when a near-fatal car accident lands Clare in the hospital, her life takes another detour. While recovering, Clare realizes she has the power to choose her life's path. The wonderful younger police officer who witnessed her crash is over the moon for her. A man from her past stirs up long-buried feelings. Even her ex is pining for her. With enthusiasm and a little envy, her sisters watch her bloom.
Together, the sisters encourage each other to seek what they need to be happy. Along the way, they all learn that it's never too late to begin again.

Nice read
What did you like most about Never Too Late?
This is a story about Clare finding life after divorce.
There are no major twists or page turners, just a very nicely written sorry about life. I was pleasantly surprised by the hot and steamy romantic acts.
Although Clare is the main character you also meet Maggie, and Sarah, Clare's sisters. Toward the end of the book the story is about all of the sisters lives not just Clare's, which I like in a book. The children in the book are endearing and funny.
As a writer I like the way the author described the love scenes, descriptive but not sleazy and you could really relate to how the characters lust. Fifty shades move over and all the men were hot and streamy.
Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances? How does this one compare?
The narrator Therese Plummer has a pleasant reading voice and I enjoyed the way she read the story.

Trite Harlequin Romance
I bought this as an Audible Daily Deal, so fortunately I didn't waste a lot of money on it. The story is a middle aged woman fantasy tale, starring hard-bodied, sensitive, and responsible men and gorgeous women. It is silly and predictable. Enough said.

15 Years Too Late
I am a huge Robyn Carr fan, which makes me feel guilty about writing a less-than-positive review of Never Too Late.
The huge negative factor for me was the main character Claire, who was a whimpy 39 year old woman. Claire stayed with husband Roger for 16 years, roughly 15 years after the 1st time he had cheated on her. When Claire finally filed for divorce after their 5th separation, she instantly has several men trying to date her...why? Martyrs just aren't that interesting.
Claire doesn't hold a fulltime job, refering to herself as a housewife, as if she was married to a building. Claire was an attractive, educated woman with a close family, a healthy teenage son and financial security, yet did almost nothing positive with her blessings. If she didn't need to earn a salary, at least she could have volunteered to help those less fortunate.
While I appeciated the message "it's never too late to improve your life", I didn't relate to Claire, although she almost got me when she started to rehab an old house. If Claire had stayed with Roger because she was hopelessly in love, financially dependent or needed help with childcare, it would have been somewhat understandable. Sadly, Claire just seemed too immature and lazy.
I did enjoy her sisters Maggie & Sarah, some humorous scenes, the perils of raising teens, the scenic small town setting and an excellent narration. The last half of the book got better and ended with a satisfying conclusion.

NEVER DISAPPOINTED!
The Robyn Carr/Terese Plummer team is ALWAYS a magnificent listen! The storyline held my attention from the very start! And the ending on all of Robyn Carr's books leave me satisfied, fulfilled and happy. This book although not in a series was no exception. I'm amazed at how the characters all come to life through Therese Plummer's wonderful narration. Her male and female voices would make one think that there are two people doing the narrating. Super great job! Well worth the credit!

Tripe. Save the credit. Juvenile, predictable and silly.
Although I am a fan of romance and female POV novels (think Maeve Binchy), this was a weak attempt. It's a simple little story which could have been sweet but then suddenly veers off into bad porn in a couple of places. What? I don't know who the audiences. If you want a sexually graphic novel, this isn't it. If you want a nice story with a good plot, this isn't it. I found the book mediocre in all aspects including the reader.
For me it's the worst kind of book. It's not so bad you realize you should cut your losses and put it down in the first chapter. Instead, you keep thinking it's going to go somewhere and get better but it never does.
Predictable, mediocre, average in all respects.

A bit too sexually graphic for me
This book at several sections of five and more minutes of graphic sexual encounters which kept me from listening to the entire book. They were also storylines with a 14-year-old having sex a 15-year-old having sex and having a pregnancy scare and a couple of illegitimate babies along the way. This information was not in the description or I would not have purchased the book. Just not my kind of thing! Will not buy any more books by this author
