About this listen

Never Have I Ever been punished for what I have done . . .

Twenty years ago

Four teenagers discover a new game.

They add their own rules, going from sharing secrets to sharing firsts.

And then it all goes spiraling out of control.

Now

A woman gets a note through her door which chills her blood

'Never have I ever been punished for what I have done'

She thought this was over. But it looks like it's her turn to play

Because no matter how far it goes, you have to obey the rules of the game. And the game is never really over.

I just keep listening because the performance was decent enough and I really wanted to know what was that big thing she forgot.

The main character was very annoying up to the last line and the justifications (which I think were intended) were absurd most of the time.

What starts as a fun game between 4 teenagers becomes something much more sinister!

This book had me hooked from the beginning. It is set in Ilfracombe, where I had a family holiday about 30 years ago, and the descriptions of the area made me want to go back! I loved the fact that Sam, the protagonist, was a crime writer too, though I didn’t really like her very much.

The story was interesting though, and made me want to keep listening, even when I should have been sleeping, to find out just what happened in that teenage game, and who was stalking Sam in the present. It reminded me a little of the film I Know What You Did Last Summer. All in all this is an excellent. twisty psychological thriller.

Excellent Psychological Thriller

The story was so bad! I got fed up of hearing about DI Robyn Dallas who isn't even a character in this book and Sam is just self obsessed. I chose it because of the narrator. Had it been someone else I might well have deleted the book!

The Narrator Saved This!

The narrator is good, the story itself is ok but predictable and a little boring. Not a waste of money but not on the top of my list.

Ok

agree with most other reviews that this was not a particularly complex and I really didn't like the self involved main character. didn't really get it in the end.
