Summary

What happens when the land around your dilapidated house gets bought up by a luxury homes developer and million-dollar mansions spring up all around you? You get at least one set of neighbors who would do just about anything to see you move away.

The Frump family makes enemies of their next-door neighbors, the Wellingtons, simply by being who they are: poor, simple folk who would rather drink beer and go fishing than climb corporate ladders and impress their socialite friends. Despite how much they hate each other, circumstances keep bringing the two families together, making for some hilarious, and often frightening, outcomes.

High school freshmen Petunia and Edward wind up cleaning the school bathrooms together as a punishment; Charlie Frump pines after Libby Wellington, who he must tutor; Maude and Catalina duke it out at the grocery store; and Kenneth needs Herb's help to survive in the wilderness if he wants to save his job. Through it all, the Wellingtons just want to buy the Frumps' house and tear it down, but a disagreement about selling threatens to rip both families apart.

Will their shared experiences help repair the rift? Or, is living next door to your bitter enemies just a ticking time bomb waiting to go off?
