About this listen

Three great vampires - two Lords and a Lady - arrive on an unsuspecting Earth that teems with defenseless humans, easy prey for the marauding vampires. But humanity has defenders. Though the Necroscope is gone, the psychically gifted men and women of E-Branch move swiftly against the vampire infestation.

Jake Cutter is running for his life through the streets of Turin when he vanishes, appearing moments later inside the triply locked "Harry's room" in E-Branch's London HQ. Jake's dreams are very strange, filled with the voices of the dead - the Great majority, the Necroscope, Harry Keogh, even a dead vampire. He hears them all, but he doesn't truly understand.

If Jake is the new Necroscope, he has to learn - fast! - how to control his powers and speak to the dead. E-Branch, with the reluctant Jake along for the ride, is about to go head to head with Malinari the Mind, a vampire Lord who psychic abilities are second to none.

But the dead don't trust Jake, not like they trusted Harry. Jake's got personal revenge on his mind, and he's spending too much time talking that dead vampire. He's got to start thinking about the future - or he won't have one!

The epic Necroscope saga continues. Brian Lumley is one again at the top of his game. Invaders features lots of elements from the original five books mixed with the fantasy horror of the Vampire World trilogy. There really isn't a weak book in this series.
Joshua Saxon once again takes the art of storytelling to a whole new level of excellence. He is by far my favourite audiobook narrator. His performances are always pitch perfect. Like all of his previous work, I know this is an audiobook I will revisit in the future.
Another epic presentation from Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.

Brian Lumley always fulfils the thirst for a quality story to dive into, Lumley & Saxon a great team, the story & narration match each other in pace, tone and drama. The suspense, horror, tenseness and a new folklore to boot all combine with the Lumley style and Saxons character acting voice. If your viewing this book then you must be a Necroscope veteran so not much to say as you will have the knowledge, if not then it’s vital you start at the first book, your in for a treat.
As Always I’ve heard two narrators that bring Lumleys work to the ears from the other world of starside and our world invaded by those horrors, brings with subtlety and impact those worlds to life. I can’t imagine any others for the voice of these books, as I turn out the light and close my eyes it’s a delight to hear these stories drift across the night, only interrupted by an occasional owl in the bristling trees and rustling leaves. What a blessing this team is, a world base of avid readers and listeners will agree with my words, we never want this to end, if only the team can keep going for an eternity. If only there was a way they could do this, hhhm, it’s only a story.
I focused mainly on the quality of the narrator as by now you will now the stories but those new to Lumley can read reviews on the greatness of the mythology but I have found that the flooding of the audiobook by audible has meant there’s very few quality narrations, very few quality books that are matched with a good voice. So the narration is at this stage important, if it’s your first time with Lumley you will be pleased and dragged in to the pleasurable nightmare by a consistent reader who shows he loves the stories just as much as we do. Blessings to Lumley, Saxon and all Necroscope fans. D 🙏🏼

Fantastic narration & story as always
