Bess, George, and I are actually in Alaska! Everywhere you look, there are massive mountains and sparkling deep-blue waters. We’re on the maiden voyage of the Arctic Star luxury cruise ship, and my old friend Becca Wright, the assistant cruise director, needs our help. She received threatening e-mails before even setting sail; then, a bloody body turned up in the swimming pool. And when a chandelier came crashing down in the dining room, we thought the Arctic Star may be cursed! There are so many passengers on board, I don’t know where to begin. Strangers on a Train

Nancy’s Alaskan adventure continues as she, Bess, and George disembark the mystery-plagued Arctic Star cruise ship and explore the grand sites of the forty-ninth state: Skagway; the Yukon territory, and Denali National Park. It’s spectacular scenery, but things start to go wrong almost immediately, leading Nancy to believe that whoever was behind the unsolved mayhem aboard the ship has followed them onto dry land. The girl detectives had better watch their steps—they’re on uncharted and unknown territory!

This took me back to my youth. Good wholesome fun… like Jessica Fletcher for a younger audience. Enough peril to be real but you know Nancy will win out. Great stuff. The narrator’s voice bugged me to start with but the longer it went the less it grated and the more the story won out. Definitely worth a listen… especially if Jessica Fletcher is your cup of tea.
