Summary

THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING IN DEATH SERIES

It is 2058, New York City. Technology now completely rules the world, but for New York Detective Eve Dallas, one irresistible impulse still rules the heart: passion...

Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over ten years on the force, she’s seen it all - and knows her survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire - and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

Eve Dallas is the 'Jack Reacher' of the 21st Century, and I'm completely hooked on this series. This series is full of life, and Eve has the right kind of attitude for a 'kick-ass New York cop'.

Normally my wife is badly allergic to cliches, but for some reason the 'In Death' series carries off the occasional cliche with great aplomb and humour, and we both thoroughly enjoy the series.

The start of a great series

Loved the book and the reading but I have one quibble.
Susan Ericksen, who's doing the reading, can't do an Irish accent. It's the same accent she used for Pitte in the Key trilogy and he was of indeterminate Irish/Welsh/God origin and although I can cope with it, it does make me cringe. I'm not looking forward to the books in which Roark and Eve head to Dublin :)

Big fan of the books - really enjoyed the reading

I love these books. The characterisation of all the people in these books is excellent.

What did you like most about Naked in Death: In Death, Book 1?

Where Eve and Roarke first meet you can't beat that.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Favorite is difficult but in this one book Eve makes it she always does and with her realising that she just might be able to be part of a couple, and have some friends.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Where feeney and roarke come face to face. after Eve has took the test where she has been trying to clear him, and come to terms with being late for the little girl who did not make it.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Eve and Roarke the start of a complicated life together

Any additional comments?

The In death books would not be the same without Susan Erickson narrating. Its nice to here one voice through the series. The other characters that add later on make it as well. Some of the things Eve comes out with are really classic - my all time favorite "BITE ME"

The best in death book - The first is always the b

The story wasn’t bad but the 1995 guesses of technology of the future have not aged well. A stupid little thing that annoyed me in the use of lighted a cigarette instead of lit. Will probably listen to the next episode.

Not a bad story
