Summary

My new neighbor is a total tool

He hated me from the second he laid eyes on me, and I don't have the first clue why.... But, if he wants to hate me, I'm happy to give him a few reasons: mowing the lawn at dawn on the weekend, leaving garbage cans in front of his driveway, renting a petting zoo for my backyard...making a list of ways to drive him crazy is half the fun.

He deserves it with the way he's driving me crazy right back without even trying - walking around without a shirt on, sweaty rippling muscles on full display, well-worn denim jeans perfectly molded to his...well, you get the idea.

My point is, if he wants a war, I'll give him one.

Nailed is an enemies to lovers, neighbors who can't stand each other, omg the anger banging, drool worthy, low angst story, which happens to be the second in my Four Bears Construction Series. It CAN be listened to as a standalone. There are NO shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.

Brill

This is a brilliant book to listen to and follow Dare as he Stone get over miscommunications and become friends which turns to more with their budding chemistry. The narrators really brought the story to life.

Hilarious and hot

How could you not love and hate Stone? He is an ass but has an amazing heart. This book is funny and hot, never boring and the two main characters are perfect for each other. Never a dull moment.

two actors too confusing for me

I couldn't tell who was talking, especially after listening to book one immediately beforehand, where the MC of this book, Stone, was given a really deep voice. This installment he has a young cheeky twink like voice and his opposite MC , Dare, has the deep growly voice.

As with book 1, the two actors trade off chapters so they voice the parts of both their MC and their opposite during their chapter. So each character has two voices. argh. I just could not keep track. The story was good but couldn't hold my attention as I couldn't follow the dialogue internal and external.

Enemies to lovers.

Dare is totally fed up with his obnoxious and rowdy neighbour Stone. However his dog Rudy is totally smitten with the man.
Stone has fun in egging his uptight but super hot neighbour. The men find they are compatible after all and find their HEA/ HFN. Great narration by both Liam and Tim. Can't wait to hear the other books in the series.

Enjoyable listen

I enjoyed listening to this, and it’s better than the first in the series. The narrators were the same in both books, but they did a better performance in this book too. I think the story was more engaging. I’ll get more from this author.

Another amazing Neuhold book!

Neuhold has done it again. Every time I read one of her books, I finish absolutely delighted. There’s always a good dose of humor, a lot of love, and both characters and a story that you just can’t help but love. The narrators of this one were both new to me and they were spectacular! I’ll definitely look for more from them future.

Another great book in this series. I love how low the drama and high the connection is in this book. These guys have awesome chemistry, you just can't help falling in love with their love story. Oh and hello boys and dogs...I am completely swooning.
Can't wait for more on Audible.

The narration was great, I am so excited to see new narrators in the MM genre.

A steamy enemies to lovers romance!❤️

This was a delightfully steamy enemies to lovers, opposites attract with light banter and romance.

I absolutely loved the performance put on by both the narrators.
It was an absolute joy listening to this one.

The characters were sweet, likeable and so very memorable.

I'll be definitely listening to this again for sure.

Another Amazing Listen!

Another amazing KM Neuhold Book! Dare & Stone were perfect together. Absolutely loved hearing Tim Paige be angsty & grumpy. And Liam DeCosimo was perfect as Stone.

Another great read

I really enjoyed this book and the way Stone was always trying to bust Dare's balls with all his tricks. but I swear the goat was my favorite part. This story is wrapped up in sweetness that will melt a tough old grouch. so enjoy your story I sure did.

Perfection

This was the perfect “enemies to lovers” story! Stone was just annoying enough and Dare was just grumpy enough that the bickering between them didn’t bug me much. Narration was great. Generally I prefect a single narrator but Tim and Liam did a great job with this one!

Not as good as book one...at first

The first 20 minutes of the book I wasn't impressed and I was kind of disappointed. It was pretty slow to start but once it did it got a lot better and I was sucked in. Somethingabout each of these books leaves me wanting more and wishing they weren't over. On to book 3 I go. My new guilty pleasure!

Great story - only good narration

Nailed has the same two narrators as Caulky and while they are both more than competent - good diction, intonation, pacing - one narrator is definitely stronger than the other - richer tone, better emotional representation of the words on the page - which is something noted in Caulky but amplified in Nailed. Also noted in this book with the “weaker” narrator, a number of inexplicable mispronunciations. It happens too often to be chalked up to inadvertent mistakes. If you’ve read Caulky and then you immediately read Nailed, you may encounter an additional issue: a character “schism” in Stone due to two very different voices from one book to the other. He is given a very deep “dumb as rocks” voice in Caulky, but in Nailed, his voice is completely different - much more upbeat, similar to Cole’s voice in Caulky. The result is that you may find yourself forced into “unhearing” and “unlearning” Stone first, and then readjusting to his new voice. It’s disconcerting at first but does fade away after a few chapters. Overall, this narrative pair is still good and enjoyable to listen to, and much better than other narrators out there, but be forewarned of the above if you are a sensitive listener.

In terms of the story, Nailed is the second installment in the Four Bears Construction series, which follows two brothers and their two best friends, all co-owners of the titular construction company, as they each try to find their HEA. Stone is the subject of this book and it tracks his enemies-to-lovers relationship with his next door neighbor, Dare. Dare is developed well with a good level of complexity. Notwithstanding his abrasiveness, he is actually very likeable. Credit to the author in developing the character to this degree. Dare’s absolutely adorable dog, Rudy, makes himself a resident of Dare and Stone’s households, and becomes a “matchmaker” of sorts. But let’s just call out the big draw to this book: the smoking hot, (at least initially) angry, sex. There’s character development with the other co-owners, Ollie and Ev, setting them up for the next two books. The introduction of Dare’s nephew West, is a bonus: his interactions with Dare are a great vehicle for seeing Dare’s “softer” side, hidden beneath the hardened exterior. Caulky was very good; this book is even better and totally hooks you into the remainder of the series. Highly recommended read if this trope and set up (and hot sex) ticks off your boxes. Or just read it for Rudy … it’s worth it.

Great Narration, Great Story

I loved the narrators for this audio. They imbued Stone and Dare with the liveliness they deserved. A good book coupled with excellent narration...it’s a good thing. (This review is very similar to my book review)

Stone does what he can to get a his sexy neighbors goat, even if it means renting goats to do it. Dare just wants his new neighbor to let him sleep in on weekends without some kind of annoying noise. Oh, and quit giving his dog treats.

Stone and Dare, a match not made in heaven. They rub each other in all the wrong ways, until they figure out that rubbing each other the right way is so much more satisfying.

Nicely written, well developed characters, and great storyline made this a very enjoyable book to listen to. Rudy kind of stole the limelight and when Nards came along the story really went to the dogs (sorry, with the silly puns I couldn’t resist). Enjoyed it.
