Summary

Available as an audiobook for the first time, read by band members "Fat Mike" Burkett, Eric Melvin, Erik "Smelly" Sandin, and Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta along with special guest narrator musician and comedian Tommy Chong. In addition, the audiobook features exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, "Bouncy" (a NOFX instrumental), "La Pieta" (Fat Mike piano & vocal song about his mother), and "Young Drunk & Stupid" (live NOFX song from an Idaho basement gig in 1986)

NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories is the first tell-all autobiography from one of the world's most influential and controversial punk bands. Fans and non-fans alike will be shocked by the stories of murder, suicide, addiction, counterfeiting, riots, bondage, terminal illness, the Yakuza, and drinking pee. Told from the perspective of each of the band's members, this audiobook looks back at more than 30 years of comedy, tragedy, and completely inexplicable success.

From the horses' mouths

This book is full of words, arranged into sentences which themselves are arranged in such a way as to convey events and ideas related to the subject matter. That can't just be a coincidence.

Incredible

Having been a huge fan of NOFX for many years, I was extremely excited to hear they were releasing an autobiographical style book.
It does not disappoint. it's so BRUTALLY honest and real, an unflinching account to all the ups and downs of this group of misfits. Listened to it in its entirety in 2 days and I am going for round 2!
Will shock you, move you and make you laugh. Highly recommended wether you're a fan or not!

Brutally honest, thought provoking, bitter sweet and funny. Laughed out loud and shed a tear.
A must listen for fans and non fans alike.

A must read/listen!

Absolutely fantastic book. Full of so many stories about the band members early lives, NOFX through the years and so much more! The fact it is narrated by the band members makes it feel so much more personal. Smelly has had such a crazy life and to hear where he is now is absolutely amazing. I have an even deeper respect for the band members and love their music even more now. Can't recommend this enough!!

Incredible

A story that not only nofx fans need to hear. Genuinely hilarious, emotional and disgusting. The four different narrations and points of view makes for a very unique read, also allowing the stories to be refreshed at every change of band member.

Filthy, hilarious, heartbreaking and haunting

NOFX turn in what might actually be the best quality release of their career, and it's a book rather than an album. If you think there's a chance you'll like this, then I promise you will.

Whilst the performances are a mixed bag, they are honest, and contain hidden gems that you wouldn't get from just reading the book.

Deep, sad, funny, inspirational, scary, educational, insightful, disgusting, and one of the most addictive books I've listened to yet. If you are a fan of NOFX it is deeply satisfying to hear where they came from and what they've been through. Extremely well written and well spoken. Thanks for sharing guys! Love you! Glad you are all still alive and doing well.

Loved these stories

Since the band (and a couple of friends) read the their own book, it was really engaging when they would tell the stories of the small happenings a events, that lead to NOFX as we know them. Being a fan of the band, this was a treat for me. But, if anything, the tales are fun, scary and put things into perspective with early punk culture. The guys putting out this book had to take courage and some long lost emotional stress. Several parts of this book I feel will stick with me for some time. Just because a few topics hit pretty close to home. A great book for anyone. ...maybe anyone.

Says heading optional, but then says required. !!

Disturbing, funny with some sad moments. I couldn't stop listening. And because you are requiring 15 words, here you go.

This book is down for the cause homes!!

Absolutely loved it!! It's like Eric Melvin touched my souls, Smelly Almost brought me to tears, El Jefe made think about my own Mexican family growing up and fat Mike mad me laugh and think about my own vices. Jello and Tommy were great and sincere in there readings. I Fucking love this book and it makes me appreciate NOFX even more. Thank you for both guys, you all did great reading your parts!!

I Laughed, I Cried, I Learned.

This is an amazing book. I heard of NOFX, but never knew their story. This book hooks you from the first chapter. Makes you wonder why and builds from that curiosity.

If you ever wondered what it's like being in a band. I can say from first hand experience. This book is it.

Liked it up to family death and butt plugs.

Lost me at butt plugs. Like I can hang for a bit, but it felt like the last 10% of the book was less about NOFX, and more about Mike's sexual lifestyle. Great book up until that point.

Pop punk Pity Party

Long-winded sob stories enhanced thru the use of a stand by thesaurus to add even more length, slowly narrated by the band with the cadence of Eeyore the donkey.
Uninatatiing in your girlfriend's mouth was never punk rock, just creepy.
I was rooting for them, but lost interest since Ribbed & only heard about their antics and views at the Las Vegas show. Unfortunately dull book & a lot of the stories seem to be just that.

Excellent book

I bought this book when it first came out and couldn’t put it dow. Years later I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it again. This book is sad , funny and inspiring all at the same time. I recommended it to a friend of mine that doesn’t even listen to punk rock and he enjoyed it too. Thank you NOFX can’t wait to see your next live performance .
