Summary

As they fight a war of good and evil in our world, the Fairy Tales need a protector.

All I wanted to do was take a break from college to check out LegendFest, some good ol' cosplay, and maybe find a lady to hit it off with. You never know, right?

My life took a new direction, though, when I found out myths like Red Riding Hood are real, and they’re in an ongoing war against evil to save us all. More than that, they are being hunted, mistaken as humanity's enemy. They need a mortal to serve as their protector, someone to keep them out of harm's way while leading the battle against the likes of the Big Bad Wolf, Baba Yaga, and other evil legends.

Now, I am that protector.

It's a tough job, but it's everything I've ever dreamed of. Even more so when Red and some of the other ladies show interest in me in more ways than just my ability to wield a magic blade.

Note: It gets saucy. We have fun on the streets and even more in the sheets, so you might not want to hear my tale if sexy fun scares you more than witches and ghouls. If you're a fan of Once Upon a Time or Fables/Wolf Among Us but also enjoy harem and the spice of life, this book's for you.

Great premise. lacking details

this story needs more character development. the sex parts are fine but it cannot replace the female development as a character. It is not just female leads I still do not understand the villains motives. this story needs more added to it.

Decent

Apart from the main character being a useless moron it's a great idea and decent execution. Worth checking out if you can spare the credit.

Grimm's X-Rated Fairy Tale

An interesting take on real world interaction with Grimm-style story characters. It kind of had hints of American Gods' presentation of mythological creatures in modern society mixed with with a level-up mechanic from a fantasy RPG video game. Also, there is an abundance of sex. The setup for the sex scenes was a bit rough and, in some cases, seemed forced. The narration was great with clear differences between the voices of the different characters.

Just Right...

My only complaint is Teddy’s mispronunciation of Mowgli’s name. As many of these characters have Disney movies names shouldn’t have been a problem. Other than that Teddy was awesome in his performance.

Original and Hot as Hell

Jamie Hawke really blew me away here. I didn't know what to expect when I picked this up. The premise sounded crazy to be honest. I fired it up making a long late night drive and it really got the hooks in me man. The action is good and the story is original and interesting, it has plenty of hot sex scenes that really deliver. One of my favorite things on Audible right now.

Consistent Jamie Hawke book

Protagonist: Check
Harem of hotties: Check
Lot of pussy references: Buffer overflow error.

Really enjoyed Teddy Hamilton’s performance as well.

Would have liked more introspection on the classes and the growth tree. Or a slightly clearer essence gathering mechanism.

A pretty decent fairy tale gamelit harem.

To be honest, I didn't really like this book as much as I thought I would. The Fairy tale grimmifications I'm coming from are things like Are You Alice? and Pandora Hearts amongst a few fairy tale rpgs as well as visual novels. It was a fun romp and some of the choices for the antagonists were pretty interesting. The fight scenes were pretty fun as well but the gamelit elements did seem a little shoehorned into the whole harem thing. I'm a guy so I enjoy the harem genre because wish fulfillment or something right? The only problem was the amount of nerdgasms that the main character has and the way he describes what he'd do to the female harem members almost seemed like they were objectifying their body. The actual sex scenes were not all that bad especially when they actually got into it it was actually quite steamy. The thing is though the main character comes across as a bit of a creep especially when he "fanboys" over the various myths (good) and legends (bad). But overall, I managed to get some sort of enjoyment out of this not as much as Are You Alice? or Pandora Hearts. But it was interesting to see a western harem author's take on these fairy tales. The characters sans the main character was pretty charming, with pucky definitely being best girl.

sex scene a little crude, but the story was one I didn't expect it too be.

Written for the male gaze

Can't get past the first ten minutes which have been loaded with misogynistic opinions on women cosplayers and objectification of the female body. Won't know if it gets better, but with an opener like that, I'm not going to find out.
