About this listen

The Sunday Times best seller!

Joan Collins has been a diarist from the age of 12, writing enthusiastically over the years. She dictated most of these entries in real time into a mini-tape recorder at the end of the day, and now she is spilling the beans - well, nearly all of them. What you will discover was written when Joan 'felt like it' between 1989 and 2009. Whether it is an encounter with a superstar or a member of the royal family, or her keen and honest insights into other celebrities at dinner parties and events, Joan is honest and unapologetic.

Taking us on a dazzling tour around the globe - from exclusive restaurants in Los Angeles to the glittering beaches of St Tropez, from dinner parties in London to galas in New York City - some of the characters you will meet here include Elton John, Princess Margaret, Donald Trump, Michael Caine, Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor, Rupert Everett, Roger Moore, Shirley MacLaine, Andrew Lloyd Webber and many more. Her diaries are intimate and witty, and they pull no punches, with no apologies to anyone mentioned in them!

"What a treat to delve into Joan Collins' diaries; a treat from start to finish." (Elizabeth Hurley)

"Wonderfully rich and mesmerising." (William Boyd)

"As brutal, withering and funny as you'd expect." (Julian Clary)

enjoyed listening, the little snippets of gossip of other Hollywood stars this was why I wanted to listen to this book. I did find some of it a bit repetitive however this was what was important to the author at the time. Glynis Barber did a good read & I could believe it was Joan herself in her younger days. Joan is one of a kind & one of the last of the golden years of Hollywood

Joan's Diaries

Very disappointed it wasn’t read by JC as described. She reads the prologue. I often buy biographies on audible to hear the voice of the writer e.g. Miriam Margolyes, so My Unapologetic Diaries did lack something for me, despite being entertaining.

Not read by Dame Joan

Great incite into JC's life. Greatly narrated and couldn't stop listening! I'm sure there's more that she could tell us!

Hugely entertaining

Always loved Joan, she tells it as it is. Joan has real class and is down to earth, absolutely immersed in her diaries. They don't make them like Joan anymore. This diary is a must read.

Absolutely Brilliant!

Glynis Barber does a wonderful job with the narration. And the stories of Joan's life are full of glamour and entertaining savagery. A great distraction through dull days.

Very enjoyable
