About this listen

Brad spends his days swinging a hammer and his weekend nights pouring drinks just to keep his nose clean. At only 21, he's already had enough trouble to last him a lifetime. But when he realizes the boy upstairs has new injuries that coincide with loud shouting matches from that apartment, he knows he has to do something to help.

Where does My Name is Luka rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely at the top of my list, one I would certainly be listening to again. I really enjoyed following Luka's determination to bide his time until he reaches 18 and escape his Father. Brad is a neighbor but doesn't know about the abuse until he has to stay at home after breaking his wrist.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Whilst I feel it should be Luka it's Brad who is my favourite. He steps in to protect Luka and give him a reason to believe there is a better future. They make such a good couple. He is so gentle with Luka.

Have you listened to any of Tim Todd’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Hands on, book 5, in this Series also narrated by Tim Todd. He is a very good narrator. Brad comes across as a straight forward guy and Luka's strength in the face of abuse really shines through. His portrayal of Luks's father was very good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes definitely, unfortunately I listen while traveling to work so time is limited.

Any additional comments?

I was given a copy of the audiobook by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Luka's story is sweet
