Summary

"They took broken and made it art."

I wanted to be left alone to build my art until she entered my world with a bubble gum scent and heartbreak. Now, I don't know what I'll do once she leaves me...as they all have.

As a recovering alcoholic and a rude bastard, Seth Carmen knows he's better off alone. He's made a success of himself by focusing on the one thing he's good at: turning garbage into something stunning. But when feisty blogger, PJ Hensley, enters his world with her fairy-like quality, he suddenly can't imagine a life without her in it.

PJ Hensley is dealing with her own tormented past and a stalker she doesn't want to admit to having, but she's pulled herself together in order to graduate and focus on her future. The last thing she needs is a moody trash artist entering her world. But like all things Seth, he enters anyway with an intensity and focus that leaves her breathless.

When the stalker emerges from the shadows and causes PJ to run, Seth spends five months writing her letters, trying to convince her to come home. Can he prove to her that they can weld their broken lives into something beautiful?

Inspired by Bon Jovi songs, comes a novel from award-winning author, LJ Evans, that shows how love and acceptance can heal even the toughest scars.

The My Life as an Album series is a set of interconnected stand-alone novels.

PJ and Seth!

Seth is an artist with a tortured soul. His past has shown him that he is unlovable and believes he is destined to be alone but from the moment he meets PJ he can’t stay away. PJ is a blogger who carries regrets and guilt from her past as well. From the moment they meet the connection between them is deep, but neither is prepared for the depth of their feelings and the damage from their pasts. Their story is full of emotion and angst which is only increased by the fact that their story is told through music and art. The letters that Seth writes trying to get a second chance with PJ will not only break your heart but put it back together as well. The choice of narrators for this story couldn't have been a better choice as they bring out all the emotion, angst and suspense and it feels you are living the story along with the characters.

My Life as a Rock Album

There is a lot of present and past time back and forth in this book but in these letters, their heart and souls are poured out. I really liked these two and seeing them overcome such tragic pasts and find love together makes for a really good listen. The narration in this book is phenomenal. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer #PinkFlamingoProductions

An Amazing Read/Listen

My Life As A Rock Album by LJ Evans is a novel inspired by Bon Jovi songs that shows how love and acceptance can heal even the toughest scars. This is the third book in the My Life As An Album series that can be read as a standalone. I listened to the book on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorne. This is the second book of LJ’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. You can’t help but root for Seth and PJ. This story was absolutely amazing. Sarah and Neill did an amazing job on the narration. I could feel all the emotions that Seth and PJ were going through. Emotional and satisfying!

I have heard so many good things about LJ Evans and the previous books in this series. I haven't had the pleasure yet of listening to those, but now I know what all the buzz is about. This book is amazing. Taking lyrics from Bon Jovi songs to represent each chapter, and sucking me into a whirlwind romance between bad boy, Seth and good girl, PJ had me wrapped up in their story all day. Seth is a little of everything I love. He is a man, broken and flawed, but loves with his whole heart. PJ is strong and confident, knows what she wants and will not be swayed. Written is a way that had me entranced, we have PJ's point of view and letters to PJ from Seth. It alternates and gives us a great insight to both sides and making us feel it all. The love, the frustration, the fear and the desire. It's all there in both of them. Evans also adds a thread of suspense, which I loved! It adds a layer to the emotional states of all. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be going back to listen to the others. Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorne bring this story to life. Puckett always gives me all the feels, and she brings it all to the surface. I love her as PJ! This is my first listen for Thorne and all I can say is WOW, this man can narrate. He gives Seth creates all facets of his personality and lets it out in those letters. This team enhances this book and lets us into PJ and Seth's life as a rock album.

This Is An Award-Winning Romance Audiobook❤❤

Hi! I was on a list to win a UK copy of, "My Life As A Rock Album" audiobook by LJ Evans and I'm so freaking ECSTATIC that I WON!!! The artist songs that were channeled throughout the chapters were no other than Bon Jovi. A few of my favorites were mentioned that had me all EXCITED but it was LJ's EXPLOSIVE AND POWERFUL writing that made this novel a GREAT HIT and will put the CHERRY ON TOP for her. "My Life As A Country and My Life As A Pop Album," were also BIG HITS for LJ but this one here, I believe will take her even further. LJ brought MYSTERY and and SUSPENSE and RAW EMOTIONS and not just the MUSIC and I believe that's going to push her even further with this novel. Our narrator's Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorne were absolutely PERFECT for the duet and each other. Any audiobook Sarah touches turns to gold and this was my 1st time listening and EXPERIENCING Neill Thorne and I can tell he will be a FORCE TO BE RECKON WITH. Bravo PERFORMANCE to the both of you I offer Standing Ovations👏 and of course my 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s I recommend this and the other two novels by LJ Evans to others. You will enjoy them all; trust me! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧ronigirl

Exceptional writing but couldn’t get into it

2.5 stars This book just wasn’t for me. I didn’t connect with any of the characters and felt that their relationship was flawed from the start. The writing was beautiful, as all of Evans’ books are, but the story was lacking. Seth was a possessive, controlling, manipulative (and let’s not forget that he WAS physically abusive in a previous book) man child. He hid behind his past and always was making excuses for his behavior as if he was forever the victim. PJ had zero backbone. I eye rolled at her behavior and actions more times than I can count. The format of the writing was very hard to get into, as it was told in half letter format and half 3rd person POV. The narration was exceptional as it always is with Ms. Puckett. I received a complementary audiobook from Audiobook Obsession for an honest review.

I didn't want it to end

I just can't get enough of this series. My Life as a Rock Album was another excellent addition to this series and had me hooked from beginning to end. This is Seth and PJ's story and it will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Based on lyrics from Bon Jovi, this novel is told mainly through love letters and will give you all the feels. LJ Evens gives us a powerful tale of true love and takes us on a heartfelt journey with two complex multi layered characters you will fall in love with. The story was evenly paced and well written and told in dual POV. Without a doubt another phenomenal love story, I would highly recommend this novel to all romance lovers. The audiobook version was narrated by Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorn . These two were amazing together and brought the story to life. They were a perfect fit for the characters and infused the right amount of emotion into the story. Their voices blended well together and both gave a flawless performance. It was an absolute pleasure listening to them narrate this novel. AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Emotional Second Chance

I am so in love with this series!! My Life As A Rock Album is based of Bon Jovi lyrics. It is told in love letters from Seth to PJ reminding them of what they had, where they’ve been and where they went wrong. Talk about emotional roller coaster ride! This one will hit you all in the feels! I never wanted to stop listening! If you love second chance romance, I highly recommend this one! Sarah and Neill put on an amazing performance! They fit their characters perfectly and I could feel everything the characters were feeling! 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

Emotional Punch!!

This story was painful but it was beautiful. It’s an interesting mix. PJ and Seth both have had such a hard life and they have so much baggage. Sometimes when life is hard you seek out ways to cope and not all of them are healthy… this is something that so many people deal with. It’s hard to hear about and I felt this story. It’s easier to use something to block out life than it is to face it. It’s easier to be dependent on another person for validation than it is to validate yourself. So just go in knowing that… this Rock album story is much more difficult than the earlier books. This one might have some triggers, so go in knowing that you’re mentally aware. That’s all I’ve got as far as the storyline… this one if a heart breaker so grab those tissues! I really like the way LJ Evans set up this story. It felt kind of interactive with the letters and the responses. It flowed so easily and it was just so different of a flow to most other books out there and hearing it in audiobook was amazing! I’ve never heard Neill Thorne previously. He and Sarah Puckett had a hard job in front of them. These characters were emotional and full of… drama, I don’t really want to say drama but the emotional upheaval was deep and heavy. Pucket and Thorne really portrayed those emotions and just seemed to embody those characters. #AudiobookObsession

Emotional!

This is the third book in the My Life as an Album Series written by LJ Evans. This story can be listened as a standalone, but you don't want to miss one book in the Series. I like how each chapter is themed with a lyric from Bon Jovi's songs. Seth and PJ's story is heartwrenching, emotional, intense, and beautiful, filled with misunderstandings, a lack of communication, and a little suspense. The story is slow paced, and the back and forth, past to present, is well done. Seth's letters are beautiful. The ending is heartwarming. I love to have both POV. The supporting characters are great, and they have an important part in this story. Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorne did an amazing job with the narration. Sarah Puckett is already one of my favorite narrators. I like her reading as PJ. Neill Thorne is a new narrator to me. He has a great voice, really pleasant to listen to. He is perfect as Seth. I enjoyed it. I love this Series. Looking forward to listen to My Life as a Mixtape, the last book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession

heartwrenching intense love

Wow a gut wrenching, emotional, story based on songs by Bon Jovi. Another great wonderful read by LJ Evsns. each book in this series is phenomenal Seth is a renown junk artist, a recovering Alcoholic, domineering, confident, possessive. But underneath, all he really wants is someone to love him. His broken background keeps him from knowing what real love is. It's hard for him to communicate his deep feelings with PJ. They only way he can show her is in his sculptures, art and touch. PJ parents died when she was 13, She lived with her brother who was in college, giving up his dream of going to med school. Her insecurities and low self esteem in high school gave her a false sense of love. Did the boys really love her or just used her? PJ never met anyone as intense as Seth. His possessiveness eventually will drive her away The story is about their emotional break, his letters to PJ and explaining his feelings, his tormented childhood and what was behind his actions. Seth portrayed their relationship in one of his sculptures. It's knots twisted, coming together as one. The symbolism in this story shows how broken both are but come together in the end. Oh I can't say how much Sarah Puckett and Neill Thorne are phenomenal in their narration. Their voices and personalities for each character were spot on! The ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless. Both showed PJ and Seth at their strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments. I thoroughly enjoyed listening tothe story. 🎧#audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧

My Life As A Album

My Life as a Rock Album (My Life as an Album, Book 3) is the 3rd standalone novel in this series, told in dual pov. Where to begin, im inlove with series and the characters involved. I love the composition of the story and how it was laid out. Inspired by Bon Jovi songs, I absolutely love it. Hearing about Cam again and the the mention of Jake I just started weeping again. PJ Hensley and Seth Carmen's lovestory is unforgettable and beautifully captivating. A blend of spellbinding ingredients to create a Intoxicating listen. Looking forward to listening to the final book in the series when available. Narrators Sarah Puckett, Neill Thorne made this story their own. Absolutely flawless performance, loved it. Nell is a new narrator to me and I absolutely loved his inflection. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession 🎧

My Life As A Rock Album

Oh My goodness! LJ Evans's My Life As A Rock Album is so good that I found it difficult to stop listening! As with her other books, this one is inspired by Bon Jovi songs. Seth Carmen is a rude, solitary, recovering alcoholic artist with a dark, tragic past. PJ Hensley is a student focused on graduating from college. PJ lost her parents when she was 13, was raised by her brother Justice and his roommate and suffered while in High school. She is trying to put her past behind her, but still has demons. She's a blogger who meets Seth to write a piece on him and his art. Their first meeting didn't go well. She was not impressed with him, but his art was beautiful! He insists on another meeting. He is fascinated with PJ and she is attracted to Seth against her will. They eventually start a relationship and move in together, but it is not without problems. Because of her past, PJ is very independent, and insists on paying her way. Despite the fact that Seth's art has made him very rich. Add in the fact that PJ has a stalker that she hasn't told Seth or her family about, and there is major drama This book is wonderful. It's so emotional. Every time I read or listen to one of Miss Evans I say it's the bet one, they just keep getting better! Sarah Puckett was superb as usual, and I have found a new narrator in Neill Thorne! Don't miss this series!

I LOVED this book!!

LJ Evans is a favorite author for me. I have read every single book published by her. The My Life As series has been a standout for me since the first one I heard. PJ and Seths story dragged me in from the beginning. I love Seth, broken pieces and all. I love how he loves and how he takes care of those he loves. He burrowed his way into my very soul from his first appearance. PJ has had a difficult life, and blames herself for many things she shouldn’t. Her journey in this book broke my heart! She doesn’t know!!! She just doesn’t! So I’ve said this before, but Sarah Puckett narrating LJ Evans is gold. Neill Thorne as well. He will always be Seth to me. I recommend this audio very highly!
