This dark alien romance was entertaining and fun. I'm new to the genre and Olympia Black's writing is easy to listen to/read, grabbing and keeping my attention. The duet narration by Bridget Bordeaux and Jake Bordeaux was fantastic. The MCs were interesting, had me melting from the heat, and invested in their story.

So this was a bit of a weird one - but that might just be me.

It was this insta-love, one minute she is the one, the next minute, all must go on.

I only got halfway then it became too annoying for me…

I enjoyed the dual narration of Jake Bordeaux, and Bridget Bordeaux

When her alien master dies, Lara who was a prized human possession, is sent to a sex temple. She is forced into a life she despises at a temple that sanctifies nothing but sexual exploitation. Gael who is half human and half Imperial seems to be her only way out. Lara is to become his wife. This book is full of emotions. Lara was abducted at age eight and endured fifteen years of alien sexualization before she even was sent to the temple.

Lara was trafficked by aliens, but with the hep of Gael her alien husband she fights to bring down the galactic slave trader.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I didn’t expect the plot twist at the end and was glad that the main characters still wound up together and in love despite the circumstances. Very good listen!
