Story
Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

Story
It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Money or love? Which would you choose? You probably just answered the question in your head, thinking it's an easy decision. For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot. I needed to go far away to think it through. As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation. Then, he left. I thought I'd never see him again. But fate had other plans. Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight.

Story
Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Story
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

It’s natural to want the one you can’t have. And for as long as I could remember, I’d secretly wanted my brother’s best friend, Jace. He was six years older and always treated me like the sister he never had. Fast forward a decade. We were all in our 20s now. Jace had moved in with my brother, Nathan, and me to help us make ends meet after our parents died. It was just the three of us - an odd family dynamic. Living under our roof, Jace was as bossy and protective as ever. But he certainly didn’t look at me like a sister anymore. That was what made things so complicated.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day, it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

Flight Or Fight?
- By L Hayes on 17-11-19
Summary
From New York Times best-selling authors Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.
My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.
When I realized there were two rooms, instead of calling him out, I pretended to be his sister. That’s how the story of “Milo and Maddie Hooker” began. We were the Hookers. My depressing trip quickly made a U-turn into an adventure. My fake brother spent the next few days showing me around his hometown. When it was time to leave, neither of us really wanted to go yet.
So, instead of flying back to our respective homes, we ventured on a road trip. At every stop, we’d pick up souvenirs. But as hot as our chemistry was, we never crossed the line. Milo knew I’d just come out of a tough relationship and didn’t want to mess with a vulnerable woman. So instead, at the end of our trip, we made a pact to meet again in three months. It was always my intention to meet him. But when I got back home, reality hit in a big way. And I worried I may have lost my handsome stranger forever.
Was there a place for him in my future? Or had the memory of him just become my favorite souvenir?

Not great
People seem to love this book but I don’t know why. It was passable, but so much of it was annoying. The relationship drama just frustrated me and I didn’t feel much sympathy for the heroine, and just wanted her to be decisive. I didn’t get swept along emotionally either, and I struggled to stay focused throughout. Usually these feelings would cap a book at 2 stars, but there were enough good aspects, and it had potential, so I’ve given it 3.

Who are Milo and Maddie Hooker?
A fun, sexy and sweet read that was a little emotional (not too much) with a romantic storyline (think of the movie An Affair to Remember - one of my favourites), with a little twist added into the mix. When Hazel and Mateo scam themselves a hotel room each during a snow storm, they form quite the friendship, so much so that they decide to continue their charade and become travel companions. They go on a road trip together touring the States and starting a truly magical friendship. As they become more and more drawn together, they make a pact to meet up in New Orleans when they’ve sorted out their personal issues. Little did they know that their paths would be crossing again, a lot sooner than they were expecting. An enjoyable audio that has the wonderful duo that is Sebastian York and Andi Arndt narrating sweet sexy Hazel and the truly sexy singer Mateo. A wonderful audio.

Don’t Waste a Credit
Wow, what a disappointment. I love a Ward/Keeland book but this is the dumbest book I suffered thru in a long time. The heroine is a weak minded door mat. The fiancé calls off the wedding, is a complete jerk, yet she still dates him and acts all confused as to whether or not she should give the hero a chance or keep dating the jerk fiancé. Keep in mind the hero has been a great guy throughout. SPOILER ~Unbeknownst to both the heroine & hero, the fiancé is the hero’s best friend. That plays a big part. The hero knows the fiancé cheated and lied about the heroine and doesn’t tell her. It’s a ridiculous story line, a ridiculous heroine who I easily lost interest in. She acts like she has no choice but to date her ex fiancé, why doesn’t she have a choice? Why does she act all jealous when her hero checks out other women yet she goes out on romantic dates her her ex ? Keep your money and skip this one it’s just awful.

Review: My Favorite Souvenir
My Favorite Souvenir by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland is their brand new standalone contemporary romance that borders on a love triangle without ever actually being twisted up in one. Told in dual POV between Hazel/Maddie and Matteo/Milo, this book is equal parts hilarious, heartbreaking and heartwarming. Maddie & Milos beginning is fun, adventurous and totally carefree. The interaction with Zara in Nola left me with chills. The conflict with Brady was exhausting. As a reader on both sides of the story, I just knew he HAD to GO, but watching Hazel work through her emotions was exactly why I read romance and love these authors so much. Milo/Matteo - swoon! Sweet and thoughtful but also possessive and slightly alpha - yes please. With outrageously awkward moments for each of these characters and some super steamy times too, this was another spectacular romance from one of my favorite co-author teams! Enjoy!
The audio performance was stellar - as always - and to be expected with two professionals such as Andi Arndt & Sebastian York reading. They seamlessly manage to embody the character they are reading for and make the listening experience completely immersive and enjoyable.

It started out great !!
The story started out great ; however, like a couple reviews here mentioned, I found it ridiculous that the heroine is such a weak character. How do you date your ex who dumped you two months before your wedding, after meeting someone so incredibly awesome like the hero! I understand all the hesitation while they where on the road, or even after they went their separate ways, but when they met up again, she still continue to date the ex while acting jealous and not wanting to let the other guy go... like how stupid is that ?
Save your money ! It was on Audible escape, and I still couldn’t finish it !!

Disappointed
I usually love Ward/Keeland books and in fact they are my one-click favs. But I was so bummed at the direction they took with this story. The first half was fun and funny and just sweet. The second half was a terrible twist that was just heartbreaking and not in the tragic, romantic sense. Heartbreaking because they took two, smart intelligent adults and turned them into immature teenagers that suddenly couldn’t think for themselves or clearly see what’s right and what’s wrong. What’s worse, they made Hazel into an insecure woman who got twisted up in her own head whining “woe is me, I just don’t know what to do and I can’t make a decision so I’ll just go along and pretend everything is okay but continue to whine about it.” Argh! And to twist the knife in this poor reader’s romantic heart? They gave Hazel a truly horrible “best friend” who was no friend at all! By the time our lovers get to do the deed (in a nice slow burn fashion too which I normally love) their union was tainted to me. I couldn’t even enjoy it! I actually skipped over it because it was such a turn off! In fact, I listened to the second half entirely on double speed just to get through it. *smh* Like I said, so disappointed. 😢

Great, fun romance
This is a wonderfully written romance that really focused on the building of the relationship but through a fun way. Matteo and Hazel met after Hazel was pretty much dumped at the alter and they both found themselves stuck at the airport because of a snow storm. They had to do some lying to get one of the last rooms at the nearby hotel and so, the Hookers were born. Agreeing not to exchange real names, they went on an adventure together and helped each other grow as people and also, move forward from their pasts. But what happens when real life intrudes?
I smiled so much while reading (and listening) to this book. It was written in such a way that it allowed the reader a front row look at the building of their relationship as friends and eventually, as they fell in love with each other. The way it rolled out felt authentic, making the book even that much more enjoyable.
I have Audible Escape so I was able to both read the ebook and listen to the audiobook. The powerhouse narration team of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York narrated and overall, they were great, as expected. There were a couple of times when I felt like the voices melded a little as both narrators played other characters so I was a little confused about who was speaking but that was very rare. Overall, I really enjoyed their reading of the story.

excellent slow burn
There is a good story here that builds upon itself and turns into a sweet romance. There is minimal drama and the more intimate scenes are appropriate and not gratuitous or cheap.
Love these authors and the narration is perfect!

On the fence also SPOILERS
This book felt too long. It felt like it took way to long to get to the point. She seemed indecisive about who she wanted and then told him she had decided already but it felt like she was stringing him along til she figured out who she wanted. I mean how hard is it to say “I don’t want you anymore. It’s over”! Just took to long to get to the point for me.

Love Andi and Sebastian - Spoiler Alert
First the ex-fiancé is a Jackass. Second love the narrators. Third the best friend Felicity needs a throat punch for being team ex-fiancé/cheater. Lastly, Matteo/Milo shouldn't have not had to wait for the Hazel/Maddie to make up her mind, her ex-fiancé was a douche. Loved the HEA though.
P.S. Love Penelope and Vi.
