About this listen

Tossing a coin in a mysterious well seems like a harmless way to cope with being ditched on a mountain—until every impossibly hot man in town starts competing for one woman’s attention in this steamy short story by USA Today bestselling author Kimberly Lemming.

Lucy Sawyer’s wish for true love lands her in an enchanted town where the men are supernatural, the chemistry is off the charts, and everyone wants to date her. But they say that things that seem too good to be true usually are, and soon Lucy may need to decide if she’s willing to pay the cost of her happily ever after.

Kimberly Lemming’s My Boyfriends Are All Monsters is part of Scared Sexy, a deliciously dark collection of Halloween romance where things that go bump in the night might just steal your heart. These seductive stand-alone stories blend chills and heat in the perfect Halloween treat—each designed to be devoured in one sitting.

“I’ll try to be gentle.” “Literally nobody told you to do that.” 🐙

I just finished My Boyfriends Are All Monsters by Kimberly Lemming and it was a brill finale to this standalone series. I wasn’t sure how the “monster” angle would land for me, but it absolutely won me over — steamy, quirky and fun all at once. Lucy’s world feels delightfully weird in the best way, where supernaturals roam and the chemistry’s off the charts.

Lucy and Hemlock (and all those supernatural suitors) brought spice, humor and some genuine heart. The story moves fast, which I loved and it’s the sort of novella you devour then wish there was more of. Yes, the monster romance is wild, but it works because the emotional stakes are there too. Lucy’s struggles to trust, to love beyond appearances and to embrace her own strength are believable and grounded. The supernatural element adds fun stakes without overshadowing her journey.

If you like your reads paranormal, spicy, and a little unpredictable — with humor, monsters, and unexpected connections — this one’s a treat.

This had an interesting premise, but it just didn’t click with me. The story felt a bit rushed and I never fully connected with the characters. That said, the male narrator did a fantastic job and really stood out in the audio.

This started fine but somewhere along the way I seem to have turned into Alice and wondered into wonderland because what the actual heck just happened?! The concept of this short story was meh but the execution was just not it.

I’m not interested in monster porn but this was awful

This is a bit of fun short novella. No need to get serious about it. I thought the narration was perfect, especially the female narrator - and her phone friends. The male narrator was also great and showed great range - especially as I’m already familiar with him. Does exactly what it says on the tin. 👏

Great narration and fun story…
