Born and raised on the violent streets of Chicago, Ja'ziya and her three besties, Tiki, ReRe, and Dirty E, are all determined to do three things: finish school, get money, and live comfortably. Adapting to some of the bad habits from the streets, plus some help from an unknown source, they get money their own way...the ski-mask way! Robbing drug dealers is like taking candy from a baby. They are always in and out with no problem. That was, until they robbed the wrong person. Big Moe enters the picture feeling played and disrespected by the crew known as The Eastside Crazy Crew! Big Moe and his cousins are on the hunt to find their money, and kill everyone responsible for taking it!

Can these girls weather the storm that's about to rain on the windy city by the name of Big Moe? Take a ride with Ja'ziya and the Eastside Crazy Crew and watch how they maneuver through the streets of Chicago looking for their come up!

This was my first Asia Hill book and I finished it in two days the book was gripping and strong and street. The characters where so real i didn't want to put the book down. Now I am looking forward to see if there is a book 2. Brilliant.

Cliffhanger UUUUUGH!

The trauma that these 4 girls went through in the beginning of this book was hard to hear and could be a trigger for someone who has suffered similar abuse as a child. But their bond kept me engaged and interested enough to see the book through. Towards the middle I got confused with the characters LJ and JR and JuJu and TuTu and thought the narrator misspoke and started to lose interest. Once I realized they were all different characters I was back on track and engaged and felt like I was watching a movie until I got to the end which was a LOT to take in with the introduction of many more characters and a bunch of drama only to then just end. No to be continued or anything- just end. UUUUGH!

Nicole bought this story to life

Where does My Besties rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank it pretty high because the voice over sounds perfect for the genre

What did you like best about this story?

How Nicole changes the tone to match what's going on in the story

What does Nicole Small bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You can visualize certain aspects of the story a lot better.

If you could rename My Besties, what would you call it?

Girls in the hood.

Down like 4 flats

Ms. Hill wrote a great story but is there a part 2? Too many loose ends, Auntie’s DOE so they say! Big E is dead or alive? Who escaped from this tie up and where’s the girls? Please tell me there’s a part 2 to this almost great story

I love a good urban fiction novel but this was not

This was not creative at all. It's almost like she stole set it off and made an audible. It should have just been called set off the sequel. The ending set you up for a sequel but I don't know if I would waste my time by reading that period it was all over the place and ending just left you there.

Horrible Ending!!

I actually enjoyed this book. This was my first time reading Asia Hill’s work. Nicole Small did her thing. The ending was so abrupt. I hope there's a part 2.

Ehhhh!!!!

I was a bit confused due to all the characters, but thanks to Nicole Small (my fav narrorator) I was able to keep up. The book was good then BAM just ended. This is so disappointing to not know what happens next.

WOW, this is a LOT

I found the it a bit hard to cope with some of he issues, especially the abuse. I was captivated with the storyline of the babies basically trying to find a why out the struggle. It had some real great points

Downside, is it's been 5 years and no attempt go resolve the open ending? hmmmmm!!!1
