In 1997 as an unemployed musician living in a council house with my family I had little chance of suing Sade and Sony over my music claims to authorship on songs such as Smooth Operator et al. However at that time legal aid was prevalent and as my case had enormous merit it went forward all the way to the court steps. My bill in 1997 was around £30.000, however many others involved in the case had the same costs and they didn't have legal aid. I was threatened with an £11000 recovery amount by Brian Carr, Sade’s solicitor if I went to the media or published my experiences but I had no assets and no money so I produced work related to promoting my experiences which prevails today in some form or other. This book is all about what I have learned since that first court action against a leading record company and famous artist such as Sade and how I have applied what I have learned in my pursuit of justice for the little man ever since.
