Summary

Before he was an Elfin Lord - before he even joined that secret group of Mages - Jamie Riley was a Mage recruited by the FBI and the Office of Supernatural Policing and Investigation. A new-minted Inspector sent into one of the most complicated supernatural regions in the country: Los Angeles.

The rest of OSPI’s LA team has grown comfortable with allowing politics and pragmatism to decide which cases they pursue, which criminals they charge - but when Jamie’s investigation suggests that a pillar of the supernatural community has killed in cold blood, he will let nothing get in the way of getting the murderer.

Not even his career.

A bite size masterpiece as usual

This series is my absolute favorite. I was bummed as it appears Glynn Stewart is only going to make 4 of the main series books. I jumped for joy when I saw this one pop up. Masterful as ever. When you pair a great series with the all time best narrator out there? Brilliance. come check us on out Facebook - 50 Shades of Ray

Let’s just say in the beginning of the Elven Lord

This is a great story I wish it was longer so only four stars I am really hoping that Stewart writes a lot more of these Particular around Jamie

Intriguing premise

I liked the idea of a supernatural police force. They went too far making the captain disagreeable. She would have twirled a villain mustache if she had one. Why would you have someone resentful of magic be in charge? The meaty part of the story was over quickly and the last half hour wasn't enough to make up for the slow progress of the rest of the book. I can't imagine spending more time with some of these characters.

Disappointed

I enjoyed the story though I am usually not a fantasy fan. I am disappointed that the series does not continue with our FBI mage and investigations.

A great place to start with the onset universe

While this book is technically not at the beginning of the onset universe it is a great standalone for the universe. Thus is a good place to see if you want to invest the time in the main story or if you want to give a copy to some one to try and get them into the onset universe

Good little novella..

Another fun novella and I’ll have to have a look at the other books by this author. I like stories about magic. This was about a man whose heart was crushed using magic and the newby, Jamie Riley, had to figure out who did it once he wouldn’t believe the man’s wife, a mage, did it. There’s was no sex and the F-bomb was used 2 times. As to the narration: Ray Porter did a great job. I would definitely listen to him again.
