Very little about this book works - someone meets a man for the first time, he alludes to time travel and she instantly decides she must be dreaming so tries to jump out of a moving car / a time traveller wants to get revenge on someone but can’t because they’re dead (even though he’s a time traveller…) / someone is killed as a child but then investigates their own murder as an adult / someone is explicitly described as being willing to break rules to help other people but later explicitly refuses to break the law in order to save the universe. And none of these things are addressed in the book - they happen and the story moves on.
I got about 3/4 of the way through hoping for some things to be resolved but just gave up in the end.
And that’s before we cover the fact that all women in this universe sound like Smurfette.
