Summary
Able to cherry pick her gardening projects after all her recent success, Steph Williams arrives at a luxury hotel in the Yorkshire moors with her beloved dog Mouse. She has been tasked with bringing the outdated gardens into line with the hotel's sleek and glassy new guise, and can't wait to dig in.

But, before Steph can enjoy the fruits of her labour, she makes a shocking discovery in the hotel's pool: a body, fanned by a beautiful evening dress, floating beneath the stars.

As she rushes into the scene, Steph realises this is no common-or-garden accident. When a surprising arrest is made, she will have to dig deep to ensure the police have the real killer. But Steph's missing ex husband proves a thorn in her side, as ever: turning up very much alive, and urgently needing her help.

Will Steph be able to find the murderer, and the missing rubies, and come up smelling of roses? Amateur Sleuths Cosy Crime Crime Fiction Murder Mystery Women Sleuths Witty

Another great cozy murder mystery, great characters and the story has many twists and turns. well narrated too. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Loving this series

I absolutely love this wonderful series. It’s highly diverting, tightly plotted and has the most scrumptious literary dog that you will ever meet. And speaking of scrumptious, Rosie Sandler writes the best food descriptions! This one was almost enough to turn me veggie. The chef’s amazing creations made my stomach rumble. And the coffee; I dare you to make it through a listen without craving a really decent dose of Italian caffeine. Fun characters, enough to keep you guessing who done it and to be rooting for the protagonist and those she loves. I am not a gardener myself so you might think the descriptions of place and Steph’s professional life as a garden designer might not interest me but they are so lovingly written and so beautifully painted that I always have a clear mental picture of the character’s surroundings. It’s like going on a little holiday with good friends. Enjoyed every moment! The final revelation of the baddie was genuinely nail biting! Highly recommended and once again Shazia Nicholls truly adds to the suspense and beauty with her excellent narration.

I have been waiting for part 4!!

I really enjoyed this book but it was more intense than others in the series. I think this was because the murder happened a lot sooner than usual. Again there were so many charcters to follow but that's something I expect aat this point. I loved the setting and the development that went into the background charcters.

Mouses moments were brilliant as usual. And I loved his little friend. He really is the unsung hero of this series.

intense and enjoyable

It was good to hear about one of my favourite heroines again and, as always, she didn’t disappoint

I love the characterisation and the narration is just right
